I'm a regular there so I know the place very well. Tonight is the grand opening of the new Hollywood casino and no longer the Empress. Heres the facts: The minute I pull in to park I lose my cell phone signal so I have no contact with the outside world from this point on. They say it's because of my cell phone carrier but I have AT&T so go figure. The staff all say the standard welcomes and the place is always clean. Before the remodeling began for the new hollywood look the winnings were mediocre but for months now it's been nothing but a consistent loss. I sit down to play a slot machine and it's automatic twenty to thirty spins without a return. One slot went 95 spins before it gave me two credits and then went another 30 spins before I won 30 credits and then another 62 spins with nothing and that was the end of $200 in twenty minutes. Next one was 68 spins with zero return and that has been the routine everyday for the past two months. Tonight I played the wheel of fortune and with $150 in quarters I never got the spin the wheel once. All I see and hear from the other players are negative remarks and frustration. Video poker payouts are very low and below industry average.
