The Carriage House is an extended stay hotel located 5 miles north of New Haven, Yale and Quinnipiac Universities. The Hotel features fully furnished studios and one bedroom newly renovated suites. Amenities include automatic wake up calls, personalized voice mail, housekeeping service, and kitchenettes. The property also features an outdoor pool. A 30 Minimum stay is required for all room reservations.

Ambiance and Amenities

This is basically an old motel that has 300 sq ft rooms. Some have a minor kitchette, others have only a microwave oven and a small refrigerator. Most rooms are in dire need of cosmetic upgrade, the walls, TV, and bathroom especially.

Good budget value

This is a value property where you get a good deal for your money. From the last review in 2003, it seems that the management has improved. I looked at the room before I leased so I knew what it was going to be like. It was like staying in a hotel but at a much better price when you are looking for at least a month. It is convenient to downtown New Haven and the use of the facilities at the Clarion across the street was a good bonus.

This place is awful

It was shocking, I expected it to be this nice hotel, but when I got there the rooms were not what they advertised. The Kitchen"ette" is nothing but a tiny microwave and a fridge that can't fit a gallon jug of milk. They charged me a security deposit that was more for the 1 month that I stayed there than my last place which I stayed at for 3 years. The customer service is horrible. I don't recommend this place at all, it's a waste of money. I recommend staying in New Haven if you can find a place for $2,000 per month.
