Very Uncomfortable

Swann Cove B&B was for sale at the time of our visit. Something the innkeeper didn't mention when we booked the room. The inn felt damp, and musty as if it hadn't been maintained. The bed was uncomfortable hard and we were kept awake by Friday night traffic - roaring diesel engines, loud music, and squealing tires. The water view is basically non-existent. Innkeeper Raquel Secord, who lives down the street provides low watt bulbs and asks that you keep them dimmed low to save electricity. I was unable to find a comfortable chair and reading lamp. Our night was long and weary night.
The bathroom is small and dank. Attempting to crack open the window resulted in the window shade falling off every time I touched it. A broken toilet paper holder is another prominent bathroom feature. The provided bath towel did not absorb water. Wood floors creek and pinch your bare feet as you walk across them.
We had booked the room for both taking our daughter to Yale and a return visit for parents weekend. Upon canceling our return trip, we were informed that a refund our 50% deposit for parent’s weekend was not possible. Her explanation is that too many parents are no shows. It’s no wonder.
