Can't wait to visit again!!

We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights recently at Old Church House Inn. Due to a very sick relative, we had no notice that we would be traveling to Peoria. While in route, we became very frantic, as I was told by several hotels that a National softball tournament was in town. Every hotel was full. I was traveling with my cousin (male). With no luck getting 2 rooms, I suggested trying to find a local B & B. I have been in the travel business for over 20 yrs & being a business owner myself, I love giving local b&b's my travel business both for myself & my clients. My cousin was a little hesitant, as he had never stayed at a B&B. I told him what a great value they are, not to mention a totally wonderful & different experience. After we both realized that this would be our only option....I convinced him. I spoke with Dick (owner) & told him that we would not be able to check in until at least 11pm-12am. He was so accommodating for our needs. He knew we were very concerned about our uncle & felt that after 7 hours of driving, we definitely needed to go straight to the hospital. Upon arriving, his wife, Holly greeted us & what a warm welcome it was. The suite was perfect for our needs. Each of us had our own private bedroom. His had a pedestal sink with plenty of room & flat screen tv. My bedroom had plenty of room as well along with a flat screen tv, writing desk, refridgerator & micro. We shared the bath & it was located between the 2 bedrooms. The extra large tub had jets, which was such a terrific bonus for me. I have knee problems & was able to soak both nights. Due to the circumstance of our visit, it greatly helped me sleep. The breakfast both days was terrific!! Holly made french toast on the 1st day & eggs on the 2nd. Both days we had an abundance of fresh fruit, fresh juice & plenty of coffee to help get the day started. Needless to say...my cousin was very pleasantly surprised!! Both of us want to take our spouses next time. Hopefully, it will be a pleasure visit to both spend time with our Aunt & Uncle, as well as a nice getaway with our spouses.I am hoping that next time, we will be able to check out more things to do in the area.
Overall, the location was an A, very easy to find. The Inn was very warm & tastefully decorated; thus giving it an A. The food was wonderful & Holly had the coffee ready very early for us...again an A. Parking was superb....A. The only down side really, was the lack of cable. We traveled through several bad storms. Some had hail & high winds. The channel selection is limited to just local channels. It would be great if they added even just basic cable service. The Weather Channel would have been nice to have access to, to have an idea what kind of weather were were in for on our 7 hour drive back. Other than that.....the Old Church House Inn is a great place to stay during your travels. Again, being a travel agent for over 20 yrs. I will definitely be referring this Old Church House Inn every opportunity I get. My husband & I will more than likely be making a return visit ourselves in the near future!!
Due to the nature of our visit, I want to thank Holly for making everything very special for us. Your kind words were certainly heart felt. My husband & I are looking forward to a return visit to your Inn! I believe Greg has also mentioned bringing his wife back for a return visit!
Thank you again for your hospitality! It was greatly appreciated!!
We hope to see you again soon!
Take Care & may GOD continue to bless your family & wonderful establishment!!
