Nightmare of an Experience
By Hello pgh, 7/9/08
My fiance and I looked forward to a country getaway for quite some time. The pictures on the internet showed this beautiful place with very nice rooms in a country setting. As soon as we arrived we realized it was all a lie. The woods were all grown in and the grass hadn't been cut for quite some time. When we arrived at the Lodge it was very obvious that it needed a great deal of work both externally and internally. The gazebo had broken furniture in it and thats if you wanted to walk through the high grass to get to it. As soon as the owner,Mary, opened the door the smell of mold and mildew was incredible. Our room looked nothing like the rooms on the internet. We were only there a short amount of time before my allergies had taken over. Between the smell of mold and the floral scent that was used to try and cover the smells, I knew I had to leave. I called Mary, only to be received with sarcasm and rudeness. We left after 15 minutes and had to find another place to stay which wasn't easy on a Holiday weekend. I could go on, but I think you got the gest of it. I strongly urge you to stay away from this Lodge. There are so many other beautiful places to stay in such a woderful part of our country.

We LoveThis Place!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/7/08
We were looking for a bnb that had privacy and a beautiful setting, and this surpassed our expectations! No neighbors, just rolling woods, and very clean and nicely decorated... we just wish they served dinner, too, as the breakfast was fabulous! We want to return every year for our anniversary.

The biggest waste of money!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/06
The brochure and website descibed our room as a private suite with a private entrance, a private jacuzzi on a private deck with a beautiful view of Tuscarawus River Valley. The reality is that we stayed in the basement of a ranch built sometime in the 60's that had mold and chipped painted all over the ground. Our private jacuzzi was on a filthy concrete patio right beneath the balcony of the guests staying in the upper portion of the house. The beautiful view that we were supposed to have was being able to look 20 feet into the forest behind us before the brush got so thick you couldn't see a thing. The worst part was the overwhelming smell of must and mold that has penetrated all of our clothing and items that we brought home. The one breakfast we did receive on Sunday morning was a casserole dish with some kind of french toast mush that when squeezed had water drip out of it. We received three towels for the entire weekend, one of which was so musty that it couldn't even be used. We killed over 40 bugs over the 48 hours that we stayed in the suite which ranged from beetles to moths to cetipedes to spiders to mosquitoes. The wood that made up the deck above us was rotted and the gazebo that was on the premises had brittle whicker furniture that hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. I could go on and on but I won't. Don't waste your money! The only nice thing about this place is it was about a mile or so from downtown New Philly and I really enjoyed that. The people in the town were nice and a band that we saw at a local bar and grille was very entertaining!
