GREAT, GREAT Family Vacation
By Tiffany, 8/13/12
From the second we checked in until the second we checked out, we had a blast!!! - Every staff member we interacted with was terrific. They were friendly, professional and helpful. We always exchanged pleasantries and they were always volunteering information and help. There were rangers and staff members all over the property - they were always driving around checking on things. - The cabin we rented (E27) was SPOTLESS when we checked in, which is super important to me - and in great condition. It was also fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, cups, and all utensils needed. - The Country Store was full of everything - there really was no need to pack as much as we did. The woman who worked the counter was great! - The water park was small but kept the kids busy and happy. We went down the water slide about 40 times in one day. The lifeguards were polite and plentiful - made me feel safe with my kids in the water. The outside pool was clean and warm. The arcade room was better than the one at Chuck E. Cheese's! I read the reviews below and I really am shocked. Apparently, TLN has really changed FOR THE BETTER. I've already made reservations for a weekend in September.

Member for a very long time
By Carol Ann, 1/25/12
It saddens me to read the negative reviews, we have been members and have gone through numerous changes in staffing and yes did have a few bad experiences. We recently bought out first RV at the prompting of our son. We now have an annual camp site right near our son and his family. I agree that there are many issues that need to be addressed ie; speed limit , noise and bathrooms being ranked highest in my book. Near the end of last season a new manager (Don) took over, in talking with him I believe that under his management there will be a positive change. The current staff at TL North was very helpful each time we had asked anything of them. I believe with this staff the 2012 experience will be a very different one from years past. The campers at TLN are from many different cultures and with that comes different ideas of what makes for a pleasent camping experience. No matter what culture you are I belive as campers it is also part of our responsibility to maintain the areas and be respectful of others around us. Lets not be so quick to blame staff for issues that can be handled by campers themselves. As seasonal campers we enjoy TLN and really do not want to go elsewhere, I can tell you we will be doing our best to maintain a healthy fun experience for ourselves and others around us. There is currently a wonderful group of seasonal campers in our immediate area, we are all curtious and helpful to each other. Some of those have even made the decision to become seasonal after spending a week-end in that area. So I ask anyone reading this post who maybe give the resort another try if you have had a bad experience. After that if you don't like it and don't think positive changes have been made, then don't go back. Thank you to the staff at TLN for all of your help in 2011 and we look forward to 2012.

Dirtiest campground I have ever been to
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/31/11
I have never ever been to a place that was so discusting. The pool looked like it was deserted and never cleaned. Thugs overtook the water park and pool. The staff might as well not be there. Pray that you never need to use a restroom anywhere in the park. Tried to play miniature golf and the course looked like it had been deserted for 20 years with stagnent water and debris all over so that you could not even play. The lowest class of clientele that I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Trash was everywhere and never picked up by any of the so called staff. English was a non existant language in this park. My kids asked if we left the USA! What a joke. I would not return here if it was the last damn place left to camp on earth!!!!

Could be nicer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/12/11
This place is a dump once all the jerks from NYC /Philly are there. The staff tries their best to help out with keeping things under control but it is very hard to when their under staffed. If you are from NYC like I am and you are going there to relax AVOID ALL MAJOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!! If your kids are good kids then avoid taking them when the other kids who are rotten brats are out of school. Stay away from the lake after dark unless you want to really hang-out with the drug dealing natives, which security can chase away all night long but them comes back anyway. When you do decide to go act like human beings, the woods have their own wildlife they don't need more, Oh! and DO NOT BELIVE THE SALESMAN you will be unhappy and stuck with a piece of crap (these things are for renting not living in for six months) and will regret it later when they can't move it for you and you will stuck in a section that you will never get any sleep in or it will be broken into(you might as well stay home for that.) And when things break its on you not them so don't bother. The staff is very helpful and try there best with what they are given. Remember they work very hard to try to make this place something for us to enjoy, so, leave the attitudes behind and the radios and other problems you might have at home, this is supposed to be a family place not a place to harbor fugitive, thugs, drunks, domestic crap and keep the gang rival crap at home too!

Owner of a cabin at timothy lake
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/11
I know the resort due to a friend of mines that purchased a cabin there in the past. I visit the place privious of times before I purchased a cabin of my own last year on 2010, I was really satisfied and happy I noticed there are no KIND of security or emergency crew at the camp site whats so ever. I will feel much better with a little change about that subject.,,, I can say my kids and I love it, here we feel free with none stop of having fun of swimming, cooking , grilling unlike the city. The activities that they provide are wonderful and family oriented you will really love it too. It was very sad to leave the site on an earlier date than last year. I will like for the resort to no longer decrease time with limitations on the activities. We as owners of some of this cottages will like for more years to come to be continued being part of Timothy Lake Resort.

This place needs help!!!
By NEPAJEEPER, 7/20/10
Rules do not apply at this location. Even when talking with the lady at the main office she agreed. things not enforced: speed limit, quite hours, no gate at entrance(anyone can drive in and camp or have a picnic, garbage, garbage, garbage, no patrolling, lifeguards watched frm up above indoor water park(thank god they did not have to respond) ,slides only open on weekends for only a few minutes, understaffed and under trained/qualified staff. I hope there never comes a time that someone stops by for a overnight stay and are told there are no sites available...there are several campers taking up sites that are just junk. I can see why they invited us to Hershey Preserve when we went for our first visit and bought our first TT membership and recently upgraded to outdoor world. I guess thats why the staff lady smoking on the front steps of the main office told us we should have stayed at there other location down the hill. Someone from Outdoor World corporate should really make a pop visit on this location.

A new owner
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/10
This will be our second season with them. We have enjoyed the park and the amenities up to this point thus far, have yet to be over run by the crowds, but it is what you make it, as anywhere. I think the staff needs a dose a nice. The one woman in the welcome center is anything but welcoming and if she's the first impression, then I can see how people can be put off. The maintenance staff works hard to address all the issues at hand. People need to keep in mind, a place of this size can't address all issues at once. I don't think it's a very large staff from what I've seen, but they do a great job. If you are thinking of buying, just keep in mind the salesman is just that - a salesman...anything to get you to sign. You'll learn as time goes on, he's just a bit full of crap!!!!!!!! Even though the park closes the second week of December, the amenities are shut down in mid-November. This is one of the more family friendly parks around, so much to do at any given time. An inside water park, even when the weather outside stinks. There's a game room, a party room, a kid's entertainment club, a nightclub and a general store to name a few and then there are all the outside activities. I too have seen some activity in the water park that should not be, but brining it to the attention of the lifeguard quickly corrected the situation. I do have one complaint, the children's section is for just that - little kids - so they have a place to be without the big ones getting in their way, yet the bigger kids feel it's their place. A lifeguard quickly addresses that. If not, the manager is usually always on premises, so he will take care of it. There are more than enough bath houses, trash receptors everywhere, wildlife, etc., and the location is excellent.

Loved It!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/09
Just return recently from a trip to Timothy Lake North. The staff was extremely helpful and my children enjoyed it. The indoor water park was loved my children and there was even a birthday party going on at the same time and there were no incidents, except for my normal 8 year old running and being told not to run. I absolutley love it! great outdoor relaxing environment...

small, but fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/21/09
The water park is very small. The large slide only open for a short period on the weekends. The cabins are not very clean. The campground gets very crowded and there is much drinking and hollering, quiet hours are not enforced
