nice family campground
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/10
The owners are extremely nice! The campground is a small family oriented campground. I like that it is a smaller campground, it gives my 8 year old more freedom then that of a larger one. It is close to many Lancaster County attractions and is very affordable. As for the comments about the sewage smell, there wasn't any....the smell that is sometimes present is from the surrounding farms, not the campground! You will experience that smell anywhere in rural surroundings where there are farm amimals are present...especialy in heat of the summer.

Great people to deal with!
By stacy, 10/25/07
From beginning to end - a nice experience. Klint and his family do their best to make sure your stay is enjoyable. We started camping there in 2006 and have been back many weekends since. Would recommend highly!

Great place for camping
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/07
Sills Campgound was very nice. The park was clean an well maintained. The Laundry was clean with new washers and driers. Easy to find and just a short drive to Redding and Lancastor plus Hershey, Harrisburg and York was only an hour away. The owners were extra nice. We've stayed at one other campground in this area and would throughly recommend this one. The Andersons'

Not that Bad... clean bathrooms!
By BluesDahlia, 4/26/07
I've been camping for most of my life (some 30 years now), and as a former girl scout, I can honestly say I have seen it all from the best to the worst. We stayed here because we were attending the Stouts Microbrewfest and the location was extremely close. The staff was extremely courteous! The bathrooms were impecible! They appeared to be cleaned at least 2, but possibly 3 times per day. (that's a camping rarity!) Sure, there were some issues. like the closeness of camping, as mentioned. We went to the early beerfest session. So we were at the campground pretty early. We were the first campers. By the time we got back, there were a lot more people. (who incidently got drunk at the 2nd session, and some of which came over to accuse us drunkenly of stealing their firewood (for the record we had a huge delivery from the staff office. they drive it right over in the little cart, how nice!)..and it turned out that the other party's wood was stored in a tent. only they didn't know one of their friends put it there) Outside of that little issue..and the stench that emitted from one of the permanent resident's trailers (and you only smelled it when you were right up on it).. I think that this place was very accomodating. So, I'm not sure where the negative remarks spawned from. This obviously isn't the Hilton. but if you aren't nit picky and enjoy clean bathrooms. well, i'd say this place is pretty good.

Sills Gives Chills!
By Ben, 5/29/06
Sills campground is within earshot of I-76. Upon entering one sees more cars and camper siding than trees. Sites are very close to one another, with very little tree or vegetation cover. My first remark to my wife upon exiting our car was, "It smells like an elephant." There was garbage storage in the playground! Quiet time starts at 11pm. A loud DJ kept the music going until 10pm... well, actually, he played overtime until 10:20pm. Finally, the smell of sewage was common. We saw a half dozen drunken campers leaving the dance event at 10:30pm. We bolted at 8am the next morning; our fastest camper-packing ever!
