Not the real thing

Don't let the web sites and pictures deceive you: this is not a "victorian inn".
It is NOT an authentic turn-of-the century large townhouse: it is a modern house decorated in terrible taste with lots of mix-and-mismatch in fake old furniture from various periods. The whole place looks tacky (e.g. lots of teddy bears in dresses and handmade napkins everywhere).
The guests are nice people but there is no way a room there deserves $280+.
Our room was ugly and cold, the breakfast was just average with limited choices.
The location is good: close to the city center, the beaches, a 5-minute drive to the south end of the island.
Overall, a MAJOR disappointment. You can do better on the Jersey shore if you are willing to spend that kind of money.
