Rowdy RV'rs Rule this Kamp
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/08
Upon our arrival, the common area volleyball court was full of teenagers and their Father's (Uncle's, whomever) disrupting the area. It was loud; nasty...we were almost hit by a volleyball that they repeatedly kicked high into the air, (by the teenagers and their Dad’s), which was landing on vehicles. They nearly hit the KOA maintenance worker's truck with him in it. I actually had to duck to avoid being hit by their ball, with the drunken "father" offender yelling at me "my bad". Then, much to our horror, the group returned to the trailers around ours. The loud music went on so loud, when I walked to the office to complain (150 yards away), you could still hear it. I informed the owner/manager that I needed another spot; they initially refused and said, "There are no other spots available". Finally, someone came down from the office, (the second time), and instead of asking them to leave, we were offered another spot. The rude, inconsiderate behavior of these people was apparently known when I spoke to a full timer at our new spot who said, "oh, the BMX'rs". The owner was nice and he explained that he could hardly get them to be quiet during quiet hours. I am sympathetic of his predicament, him being an older man and this being an intimidating large group. However, the manager/owner allowed these rowdy and inconsiderate people to stay and put the compliant and courteous at risk and inconvenience. It is not where I plan to stay again. Nor would I recommend it, unless of course, you are loud, rowdy and inconsiderate of others.
