The positive reviews plus the wonderful name got our attention. Our stay was just right in so many ways; the room was clean without the smell of cleaners and "air fresheners", the windows open for cross ventilation, the beds were comfortable, the towels were great, it is pet friendly, to mention a few. This motel has everything we need for a nice stay, and will be our destination in the future.
The rooms are a bit dated (but most hotels in the area are) yet are very clean. I stayed in room 138 which has 2 double queen sized beds and lots of room which is great if you are traveling with kids. There was a small fridge (didn't cool as well as we would have liked) yet no microwave. I wish they also provided a microwave since they certainly had the room for it.
My wife and I loved the place, clean, large room, nice staff, and 52 bucks for the night. The outside was also well kept.
The bed we would love to have at home, very good night sleep, we will stay there on the next time through.
This is the nicest motel in Ely and the cleanest I've ever stayed at--and I've stayed at some very nice luxury hotels.
I didn't think there were any good motels in Ely, but this lovely little place with Puffs Plus (!) and pretty colored tissue, nice colored towels to go with the rooms motifs is a great place to stay.
The mattresses are very good, as are the pillows.
The rooms have a blow dryer and internet connections, but no complimentary toiletries, microwave, or coffeemaker, and the motel doesn't have a pool. The lack of these things didn't bother us at all, but some might prefer these now-common conveniences to homey cleanliness of the Bristlecone.
Our room was about $55, compared with the Ramada across the street, which was $86 and not nearly as nice. We've also stayed at the Prospector in Ely, which charges $95 for their rooms and they aren't as well kept.
A great value for the money, this motel was quiet and comfortable. An easy stroll to nearby restaurants, it was in a great location. The staff was friendly and accomodating.
The free internet access was a real plus. Although the motel did not have a pool or hot tub, we walking around the area to enjoy the views (of mountains and murals). Ely is like going back in time to Smallville USA.
The low rates, smoke-free rooms, helpful staff and folksy decor ensured that we'll stay here again in the future!
