This popular ski lodge was built in 1888 by a silver miner and offers spectacular views of the Ajax and Independence mountains. Having capitalized early on the mining boom, the rest house closed down in 1998 opening only in December 2001 under new owners who renovated it. The refurbished lodge now caters to the legion of skiers coming to Aspen Snowmass, offering them web facilities and whirlpool baths. Despite these changes, the lodge still maintains its old-world charm with its Victorian interiors. Tourists love to exchange stories at the bar, fireplace, library room, garden and lounge just as the miners did in the past. Property Information by Wcities, Inc |
