Woodward, Topeka

When I pulled up to the Woodward, pictures did not do this place any justice. The details that Elizabeth kept towards the home's orginal build is beautiful. I found the Woodward online and planned a romatic overnight for my husband's birthday. We stayed in the Chisholm Room and it was just right for us. After I took my husband to a nice dinner, I had Elizabeth prepare fresh fruit, homemade cream and champange with sprinkled rose pedals all over our room. Then after we enjoyed this little treat I had it planned for us to have a couple's massage....my husband was in heaven!! Between both Elizabeth and myself, we pulled off an amazing evening my husband says he'll never forget. Elizabeth's hospitality in her own home was absolutely inviting and her conversations with us were liberating/enjoyable. This is a B & B I'll definately be recommending and will be planning a return soon.

If your a "lifestyler" watch what you say around the women, intential or unintential is still unknown, but she outed us and have issues ever since Personally I dont trust the women, we mentioned some items that were unsatisfactory just for information sake and not long there after questions started coming up about our life out side the comfort zone.....

We searched for a getaway near our home in Kansas City and were amazed to find such a treat close to home in Topeka. The Woodward is amazing, quiet, immaculate, and a real treat! The owner has invested in this downtown neighborhood and really brought something special to the community. The tiki pool was like our own piece of the tropics! We never would have thought we could find this kind of luxury in Kansas. We now have our home away from home.

Service was horrible, food was not worth the money. Neighborhood leave something to be desired. Caretaker more interested in talking about herself and her house than making sure everyone was comfortable (this is a lot of money to spend to hear someone talk about themself!)

We had a reception on the first floor of the Woodward. While the Woodward is located in a neighborhood past it's prime, we do not feel any of our guests felt any concern for their personal safety. The atmosphere inside the Woodward is outstanding. The owner has done a great job of preserving the building's original grandeur We found the food and service to be mediocre when accommodating a large group of people; particularly when cost is taken into consideration.
