Description

The Beach Shack is a fresh, new, fun alternative for beachfront vacations. You will feel comfortable wearing your flip flops all day long. Long, lazy days at the beach and pool flow into nights full of music and laughter at the Rusty Nail - before you even have a chance to rinse the sand from between your toes. The Rusty Nail, Cape May's legendary hang out for life guards and surfers after hours has been revived with an indoor/outdoor ambiance, live music, and our own take on beach blanket comfort food.

very nice place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/10
I kept hearing and reading negative comments about the beach shack but it is a great place to stay. The staff are all friendly and the room was very clean. The rusty nail bar outside is awsome with a fireplace and beach scene. While we sat on the beach, the staff came out with dinner menus and brought us food and drinks to us. They also supply beach chairs, towels, and an umbrella. We had a great time. I would recommend the beach shack to anyone.

what's going on?
By kathryne, 4/20/08
As a timeshare owner at the coachmans we were informed in Oct.2006 the place had been sold and would not continue to operate as a timeshare or motel. It was to be torn down or renovated to be sold as individual units. Why is it still being advertised after we were told we had to leave with time left on our timeshare agreement?. disgusted..

not what it used to be
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/18/08
This used to be a top notch establishment. Beware now. The new owners are filling time until they can get a permit to knock this down and are renting units that have not been properly upkept. But, if you are not particular about weeds in gardens and not very clean carpet, the views are amazing and the location is key.

Looks good
By steven b, 11/6/07
Place looks good from the outside and is in a good location but the rooms themselves are old and in need of an update. Does have a working elevator for the upper floors and the staff did a nice job.

Great 4 days!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/07
This was our first visit to Cape May and we're already looking forward to another. The Inn was clean, comfortable and located directly across from the beach. It was also within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, and a short ride to Sunset Beach. The management and staff couldn't have been more pleasant or accommodating. (We misplaced our car keys on the second day and they were so helpful in our search.) Thanks to them for contributing to our great getaway!

Coachman is a good place to stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/16/06
The only thing, is that if you have children the steps up to the room with all the beach "stuff" are a bit much. The restaurant there is very nice. It is close to the main drag... which is small.... some shops and things. If you are looking for commercialism this is not the town for you. The enviroment there is laid back. The hotel and area are clean. I love Cape May. Some places are not kid friendly. Which is good too, if you are looking for a private, quiet weekend away. The beach is clean and you need to pay for a beach pass.
