Will Be Trying Someplace New
By ,
I stayed here at The Quebec in 2010 and had a really good experience. The staff were very friendly and the room was cozy and clean. I came back in 2011 and the staff was very friendly, the room was cozy and clean (I was lucky to get the same exact room) and there was new furnishings in the room. Very pleasant surprise. The problem I found in 2011 compared to 2010 was that other hotels were using the pool at The Quebec. There were over 200 people in that pool at one time. It felt like an inner city pool instead of a relaxing shore motel pool. Plus there were a bunch of very rude guests who kept stealing the chairs in front of my room and leaving garbage all over the pool/picnic area. These guests also were very loud very late at night. These issues plus the location have made me look elsewhere for my 2012 trip. The Quebec is located close to the boardwalk, which is nice, but I am looking for something more towards the heart of the boardwalk. The Quebec is a nice place to stay, clean and comfortable, but if they keep having several other motels using the pool and booking very rude guests who only think about themselves I find it's time to move on.

This hotel sucks !
By ,
Me and my friends booked this place for prom weekend, but since the hotel was full (which they failed to tell us when we booked it) they put us in Happy Days, which reminds me of the chum bucket. It was dirty and way to small to fit four people in one room. There was no way it should have been $140 per person. I would never recommend this place to anyone !

Warning

This place almost ruined my vacation. We had placed a reservation at the Quebec a week in advance, but when we got there it was a different story. It turns out that some how they lost our reservation card. There was nothing that they could do to help us out but scramble through their mess of papers and still not find it. I called a couple days later to get a refund for the room i didnt stay in and they responed with "yeah buddy we found your card that day and took care of it"

Very Happy. We'll be back next year!!
By ,
Before coming to wildwood, I made reservations at another place. That place was cheaper, but it really showed. Basically, there was no way we were staying -- at least they gave our money back after making a major scene in their office. After looking around for an hour we found either places that where out of our budget but nice, or in our budget but as bad as the first place. The Quebec was too expensive too, but they had a room in the building across the street at the Calypso hotel part. It was a smallish room without a balcony, but it was actually clean and better yet we could actually afford it. The location was great and they had wifi available -- no laptop this year, but I'll come prepared next. We saw another room with a kitchen which looked just as nice, but we had no plans of cooking on our vacation. So why spend the extra. You guys are life savers. We'll definitely call you first next year.

Don’t stay here!
By ,
If I could push a button and wipe this place off the face of the Earth, I would do it in a heartbeat. The Quebec Calypso Resort by the Sea in Wildwood, NJ is certainly no resort. It’s a motel, it says so right on their business cards. Also, they call themselves a luxury resort motel on their website, but people should forget the “luxury resort” part and focus on the “motel” part. OK, so now that we have cleared that up, allow me to tell you about what I experienced there. If you like small rooms with bunk beads, maid services that come at 5 PM, and getting sprayed in the face with Windex, then this place is for you! I made my reservations over the phone for the Quebec and they promised me I would be placed in the Quebec because they own three other motels in addition to the Quebec. I wanted to stay at the Quebec because this was supposedly better than the other three motels, but my family stayed at the Quebec after I stayed at their Key West Motel and they experienced the same things as I did at the Key West Motel. Anyway, I was assured that I got a room at the Quebec and do you know what happened? When I arrived, they told me there were no rooms available at the Quebec! Even though I had reservations, some BS happened and I lost the room. I should have just picked another hotel to stay at, but I didn’t have an Internet connection to find reviews of other places, so I decided to stick it out with them and stay at their Key West Motel. Remember, I needed a room for two. Do you know what I got? I got a room with bunk beds! My college dorm room was bigger than this! So, I complained and got to check out a room with a king-sized bed at their Happy Days Motel, but this room was basically a room with an oversized bed in it and so I chose the first room. To boot, in the second room, the refrigerator was left open and didn’t seem to work when I was looking in that room! Alright, so I tried to make the best of it even though I was staying in a dorm room. I tried to stay out of the room as much as possible, but, of course, I had to be there sometimes. The maid service was a joke. When I first got to the room, the sheets were dirty with God knows what, the toilet paper roll wasn’t even a full roll, and the maid service came at 5 PM (and they continued to do so throughout my stay). They give you two towels, so if you’re a female and want to put one towel on your hair while having one wrapped around your body, you can forget that (if you’re staying with another person). Also, if you want more towels, you have to either wait until 5 PM when the maid service comes or physically go and pick them up at their main office. If that wasn’t bad enough, you have to help the maid service with their work! I was in the room when they came one day and I had to hold the blinds open while she cleaned the windows because they were broken. She kept on spraying me with Windex because she had it on the mist setting! I told her to watch out, but she couldn’t speak English well. Want to know something else? My room didn’t even have a phone in it! God forbid something happened and I didn’t own a cell phone, I would be screwed! Speaking of screwing, there’s a crappy diner across from the motel and in the diner’s parking lot, you can hear the prostitutes making their money! Simply disgusting! When I finally checked out after my vacation, the people at the front desk did not ask me how my stay was or anything like that. I just had to leave my key cards at the desk, and that was it. Very unfriendly! The only good thing about this place was the location. It is located right by the boardwalk, but guess what, so are many other hotels! There’s even one literally right on the boardwalk! I wouldn’t pick this motel just for the location alone because everything else sucks and there are many other hotels that are located just as close (and, indeed, closer) to the boardwalk. If I can save even one unfortunate soul from coming to this dumb, my job would be complete.

GREAT RATES - CLEAN - GOOD LOCATION
By ,
I stayed at the Quebec for the first time last week and let me tell you, I was IMPRESSED! We stayed in a "Deluxe Two Room Suite". There were only four of us (me, the wife, my daughter and her friend) but the space was more than enough. Actually, it ended up being perfect. The room had two TVs, a full size refridgerator, AND microwave too, so that was a plus. We received daily maid service (usually around 11-12 every day) and discounts to all of these little restaurants and shops around town. Apparantly the motel subscribes to all of these special programs (one was called the "Gold Key" , I think) which entitle their guests to discounts and bargains all around town. I also liked how there was fresh coffee every morning for the guests. The motel is in a pretty good spot too. We we close enough to the boardwalk and amusements that on most nights, we even let the girls go up by themselves (you know teenagers...always want to be on their own!). I don't think I drove my car once...everything you need is only a few steps away. There is a nifty fifties diner next door, a rite aid down the street, a great italian deli, oh and did I mention the BEACH was only ONE BLOCK away!!! The best part of our vacation was the prices. Since we stayed for almost a week the lady at the desk gave us a great deal. She even let us keep our car parked after we checked out for one more beach day. The motel is run by a family...therefore, they know how to treat a family. The lady told me that if I call early in advance next year she could gaurauntee me atleast 20% off the rates. My advice...call as soon as possible!

CLEAN - GREAT LOCATION - REASONABLE PRICES!!
By ,
I came down to the wildwood for the week of July 4th with my husband and two little ones. After a few hours of searching, we finally ran into the Quebec Motel. I was pleasantly surprised when the front desk lady treated me as a priority and not a burden. Right away, everyone seemed so pleasant...doing little things like holding the door, being patient..one of the front desk clerks even entertained my 3 year old as I was filling out the reservation card. In addition to the friendly staff, the Quebec is only a 1/2 A BLOCK away from the BEACH and it is right in the middle of 2 amusement parks. Location was especially important to me and my husband, (because God knows how tricky parking can be down at the shore) but everything was steps away...I don't think we ever even used our car! The motel was super clean too and the rooms were spotless. With two toddlers, I'm always very particular of their surroundings, but the motel has definitely met and exceeded my standards. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The best part is, it was all at a VERY REASONABLE PRICE!!

Way overpriced for what you get.
By ,
Office staff is pretty crusty but ok. For Wildwood, the place is pretty well maintained and the maid and maintenance staff is great. For $250 a night, I don't need to have a flashlight flashed in my eyes at Midnight and be told to "go to bed." When I reported that we had no hot water I was told the boiler was sized right and that they'd have to tell "management." The lady that said this forgot that she told me she owned the place. She did say it was a good thing that the weather was warm and a cold shower would feel good. Forget customer service. This is owned by the same folks that own a few properties on the same corner and they tend to shuffle folks between properties so your reservation at one hotel doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be staying there. Watch out, one of the properties is pretty rundown.

Awful Customer Service
By ,
I booked a room at Quebec on Friday afternoon at 5pm for unexpected trip to Jersey for a funeral the following week. I called on Saturday to explain that we wouldn't be needed the room since we were able to stay with family. First, they didn't even have us booked for the correct nights, and then they wanted to argue about refunding the full amount they ALREADY charged to my bank account. When I made the reservation, the credit card was given to reserve the room, not to charge the entire amount right away. After a long, unpleasant discussion, they finally agreed to return the amount minus $25 for their "trouble" and "fees" in booking the room. I have been going to Wildwood for 17 years and will never stay at this place. I would not recommend dealing with them and will definitely remain with my "regular" hotels in the future.
