Blue Skies Inn, Manitou Springs

From start to finish, our experience with Blue Skies Inn was nothing less than magical. We purchased one of their wedding packages, and Sally, the owner and wedding coordinator, immediately seemed to "get" our vision of the perfect wedding -- her enthusiasm and creativity made even the planning process incredibly fun! She even went so far as to buy flowers for her spring garden that were color-coordinated to our wedding theme -- now THAT is customer service. The cake was delicious, my bouquet was magnificent, and our photos were amazing -- but it was in the tiny details that the quality of this place and the genuine kindness and passion of its owners shines through -- the little charms on my bouquet that matched our wedding theme, the slices of cake and chilled cider waiting for us in our room when we returned from the reception, the greeting certificate and treats on the bed when we arrived, the fabulous strawberry-scented bodywash in the shower, the fresh-from-the-oven muffins in our breakfast basket each morning, and I could go on and on. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, blissfully easy, and so much darned FUN because Sally was as excited about it as we were!! Whether you plan to get married here or not, though, Blue Skies is such a wonderful place to visit. We stayed in the gorgeous "Blue Skies" suite, and the bed was incredibly soft (so was the carpet!) and the room so beautifully decorated -- we loved the complimentary tea/hot cocoa/cider/snack setup, the miles-long list of movies to borrow, the hot tub under the stars (with its own special towels!) , the marvelously relaxing jacuzzi tub, the MASSIVE bathroom, the luxurious bedside gas fireplace, the big windows overlooking the hills outside... Breakfast is a hot (very hot!) egg dish, fresh-baked muffins that are DIVINE, coffee and orange juice, fresh fruit -- and it's enough food for probably four people, so if you can't eat it all that means yummy leftovers for later! The inn itself is right next to a ton of Colorado's best attractions, too -- Pikes Peak, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, the Cliff Dwellings Museum, and more hiking and shopping than a person could hope for. Time after time in the months and weeks leading up to our wedding, Sally's generosity and friendliness just blew me away. I came away from the experience feeling like we'd made a wonderful new friend -- and we plan to go back as often as we possibly can. I'm already missing that big fluffy bed and the jacuzzi!!

Blue Skies is without a doubt the best B&B experience I have ever had. Mike and Sally are the perfect hosts. When ever we get a chance to get away Blue Skies is always the top of the list...We have been there numerous times since 2004, always a great, relaxing time. Thanks for everything Mike and Sally!!

When I visited BSBB, I was hoping for a someplace peaceful and recouperative. BSBB was definitely it! The staff was friendly while professional - very nice to deal with. The entire inn is beautiful - definitely not the common run. Sally gave me a tour of the whole inn. The rooms are a real treat. She is very creative! My room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and delightfully decorated. Breakfast was wonderful - personally delivered to my room every morning. The muffins! Yummy! Sally and Mike are The Best! They were welcoming, friendly, helpful, and kind. I needed that after several very stressful years. There were so many things that made my stay delightful. There isn't room to list them all. Above all, there were NO unpleasant surprises. When a woman travels by herself, she appreciates the superior level of service one gets at BSBB. I have recommended BSBB to all my friends! The next time I get a chance, I'm going back!

This was our first trip to Blue Skies - but it will not be our last!!! We have also recommended this B&B to several friends and family members. We checked it out online before making our reservations, yet upon arrival everything was even better than what we saw online. The rooms are immaculate, the scenery is perfect (you would never know you are just off the highway - it feels like a remote place), the breakfasts are delivered to your door and are hot and delicious. Sally & Mike went out of their way to make our stay memorable. It was a very romantic getaway for us. We will come back!!

We love Blue Skies Inn! We love having a beautifully decorated room with a fireplace and soaking tub! We also love to just sleep in and watch movies. But we have to wake up in time to enjoy the superb breakfast brought right to your door with fresh baked muffins, an egg casserole, juice, coffee and fruit! Wonderful every time! This was our first visit to Blue Skies and we are already planning our next visit for the Spring/Summer! It was exactly what we wanted it to be and more! We were welcomed so graciously by Mike & Sally and our room was not only beautiful with all the handpainted accents but felt so wonderfully comfortable and peaceful. The kids said they felt we were staying in a fairy tale place. Our every wish was fulfilled promptly (we loved the free movies) and having a hot, scrumptious breakfast delivered to our room each morning in a basket was awesome! It was so nice to sleep in and not have to get dressed to have breakfast. The Inn is convenient to everything--it is the first place my children ever wanted to go back to the room and spend time just being together. Although this was perfect for our family, I could definitely come here for a romantic weekend or with girlfriends to rejuvenate!

Blue Skies is a totally unique experience. In a world where every hotel starts to look the same, Blue Skies is a much needed reminder that creativity is still alive. Each room is a stylistic wonder. From star filled skies, to Native American art, to luscious gardens and jungle decor, each room has been painstakingly designed and hand-painted by the owner, Sally. Who, in her own right, is credit to the pioneer spirit of the American west. She and Mike are wonderful hosts and are always on site. They provide breakfast to your door each morning in a picnic basket. The fresh muffins and fruit are delicious. You can eat in your room's sitting area (each room has one) or enjoy the porches and ironwork tables out front. On my last trip a beautiful buck came strolling across the parking lot just as the sun hit the gorgeous mountain backdrop. Walk around to the rear of the buildings and enjoy the secret garden loaded with flowers, hidden walkways and decorative art. It's the perfect setting for an intimate wedding. It really is a must see again and again.

We have visited Blue Skies Inn 3 times in 2 years because we love the location, the service, the food and the people who run the Inn. We also love the decor in each room. My children get so excited when i say we are going again to see our friends at Blue Skies Inn!

We have stayed at many B&B's, each one is different. The Blue Skies Inn is now one of our favorite experiences. We loved the artful, whimsical, private and spacious rooms. It was fun to have our breakfast delivered in a basket to our room. How wonderful when you are on vacation to not have to get dressed to eat in the morning. The Innkeepers were available and at our service for anything we needed. We watched free movies and enjoyed the hot tub. The location is tucked away from the noisy street. A perfect getaway!

Blue Skies Inn is the perfect place for a destination wedding. My daughter had found this location online, which could make someone a little nervous, but when we arrived it was the perfect location for her wedding. Sally and Mike have done a wonderful job with this bed and breakfast. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing vacation or a stress free wedding.
