Great charm ~ wonderful hosts

When I arrived and was greeted by the host, I felt he must be putting on airs since no one could be that friendly. I was wrong; he was genuine and very accommodating. He had done all of the restoration on this Victorian house and satisfied my interests with a complete tour of the home and showed me an album of before and after pictures. He was obviously a very competent craftsman too.
The room that I stayed in was quite spacious. It had a sitting area, large king-sized bed and well provided bathroom. My son had provided the overnight stay as a gift so he could use our home in nearby Colorado Springs for a bachelors party. As a consequence I didnt take much in the way of extras, including Q-tips. Well, on a stand by the sink, in an antique canister, even that seemingly inconsequential need had been anticipated. The room was replete with extra pillows, linens, and towels.
The breakfast was splendid for both the eye and the pallet. In keeping with the Victorian theme, all of the table service echoed that era. The ham was thick, succulent and freshly grilled on an outdoor barbecue. Cream cheese crepes were beautifully prepared and service with a bowl of fresh fruit and accented with a violet from their garden. Hot drinks were quickly refilled before they ever had a chance of being emptied. As I left, I admired the pristine, beautifully kept, period garden. Before I knew it, the host had potted up an admired plant for me to take home unbelievable!
