Silver Saddle Motel, Manitou Springs

We stayed four nights and we were only there at night but the young guy running the place actually lived there, too. We were constantly bothering him for something late at night and he was the most patient and FRIENDLY person we met during our vacation. The motel (and room) was VERY clean and not frilly. It is the kind of place ALL motels should strive to be, A CLEAN COMFORTABLE PLACE TO SLEEP !!! The value for the dollar was WAY ABOVE the norm. We are SOOOO happy we pulled into the parking lot and inquired about the room. It truly made our vacation MUCH MORE pleasant. When we go back to Colorado Springs, AND WE WILL, we will certainly be staying ALL of our nights at THE SILVER SADDLE and wouldn't even consider another place, even if the price was better. You simply can't beat this place. AS far as the pool goes, it looked like a very nice, average size pool but we didn't go to Colorado in December to swim so I didn't pay much attention to it. The location of the motel couldn't have been better for our interests. It is central to many points of interest; Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, etc. and it was only about a hour and a half drive to Breckenridge. We made the round trip there two different days and the drive is a VERY SCENIC and PLEASANT trip. I WANT TO GO BACK EVERY YEAR ! more than that, I WANT TO MOVE THERE ! ! ! ! ! Overall, I would give The Silver Saddle 5 STARS and my wife would also give them 5 STARS. It's not The Hilton or anything like that but it IS a CLEAN, COZY, FRIENDLY, COMFORTABLE place to stay and to use as a base camp for anything within 200 miles of Colorado Springs ! (I don't mind driving 4 or 5 hours round trip from base camp in Colorado. The scenery and the views are SPECTACULAR.)

Great place to stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Heated pool, so we were able to swim when it was 75 degree weather.

Stayed at this hotel for four nights during the busy Pikes Peak Marathon weekend. I had to call several times to change our reservation and the staff was always very helpful and accommodating. The room was exactly as expected. Clean, comfortable and quiet. I'm a big fan of the continental breakfast...nothing extensive, but got plenty to eat. Location is within walking distance to everything in manitou springs and gives you easy access to the highway and garden of the gods. Would recommend this to anyone needing a simple, good place to stay.
