We just got back home from camping at Tom's Cove. We did not want to leave. It was awesome! We camped right on the water. Our little girl loved it. She loved fishing right at our campsite. From morning to night. She loved feeding the ducks and searching for things when the tide was low. The campground is clean. It is very family oriented. While we were there, there was a lot of other families with children the same age as ours. They have a pool but we never had the chance to swim in it. They have a great game room for the kids that offers a great snack bar. A pier you can fish off of. There is a store with plenty of fishing supplies. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily. I have no complaints. They even picked up our trash each day at 10am. The seagulls did wake us up early but that only meant more time to explore Chincoteage. It is very nice. We saw the wild ponies from our campsite as well as the Asaateague Lighthouse. We rented a boat from Capt. Bob's and spent the day fishing. We spent two days at the beach. There is people selling fresh seafood along the roadside. If you go, you have to visit the creamery, they have the best homemade ice cream. My only regret about our trip is we did not stay longer. We plan to make it a yearly visit. This time I want to bring a canoe. You will not be disappointed. It is a great place. I have read the reviews and a lot of people complainted that they are behind in times when it comes to registration but it adds to the atmosphere . They do not take credit cards, everything is done with cash. They do have an atm in their store, if you need cash.
me and my family (and there is about 10-13 familys that go same time every year) love to go to toms cove I have been going for 11 years and I am going to go every year for the rest of my life. It is very clean and the kids love it
Lets just start off by saying the check in is a century old. You canreserve spots but you can reserve spots. Dont get that at all. The place is really clean and we always stay on a waterfront and we go there every year in June for 2 weeks. Its a great palce to stay and everyone is nice except the front desk where you check in. There is always though one person we can't wait to see. She is very kind to us and loves to see us there. We bought her a gift since she loves Longaberger baskets so we bought her one. This is the best worker they have. Just to bad the chechout or check in desk was kind. I also wish that the security guy would calm down.MR. Merryl, McDaniel.
We found this campground in april of '07 and immediately moved our RV onto a permanent
site.Staff is friendly and campground is well maintained and clean.Atlantic ocean is 15 minutes away with free and easy parking. The Pony swim is the big event of the year.Want to get away from work?-this is the place.
The campground is great. It is in a perfect location and well takin care of. However, the registration department is stuck in the past. There means of reservations are a shoe box filled with note cards. There check in is a joke. Park your camper wherever you see a sight and then go in and tell them where you are. If you complain they really dont care, somebody will take your place. I dont wright this from my single experience, but from a family I went with and many others I spoke with. Oh yeah, leave your credit cards at home, you'll need cash or check. What decade are they in? I think I'll go to Maddox next time.
