National 9 Inn, Cortez

This hotel was awful! I come from a family who travels cheap so I know value when I see it! This place was beyond horrible. It's in a time stand still with nothing being updated in 30 years. The door looked like it could be pushed over, and the key took a lot of effort to get it to work. The carpet was disgusting, covered in stains and questionable if it had been vacuumed! The light fixtures had spider webs in them, and random bugs roamed around. The beds were old and the platform seemed as though it would collapse in the middle of the night. The a/c was loud and would start to make horrible noises until you'd give up and shut it off. After realizing housekeeping hadn't given us towels, we went to the front desk to ask for more. The man refused to give us any saying they had no more to give. He didn't seem to care that we didn't have even one! As far as I could tell we were the only ones crazy enough to stay there. They didn't have enough towels for 3 rooms? Really!? I ended up having to use my pajama pants to dry off my 8 month old after her bath. Do yourself a favor and stay away. I'd rather sleep in my car then have to deal with this type of service and quality of room!
