Won't be back

My sister and I arrived for a 6 night stay and were told there was no maid services almost first thing followed by, "call if you need something." The housekeeping situation had been going on for some time, however the Sitzmark never informed me during booking or during the time prior to arrival that there was a problem.
I got the key to the room and discovered it was not the room I requested when I booked a month earlier (one bed short). I said it was doable, just disappointing, but certainly not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The staff memember said the owners were out of town and the log with the bookings was not available and it was too late to change rooms, but they would see about a discount for the trouble. On day 4 I called to request the trash to be taken out because no one had come for a few days. I was told again about their housekeeping troubles and was told to empty the garbage across the street at the gas station. I was speechless for a moment and then replied that my stay had been a disappointment from the first day and although I was sure they would have no trouble booking guests, I would not be back. On the morning of check out my sister and I took the keys to the desk and I decided to take the high road and not say anything. When I was asked about our stay, I just smiled but stayed silent. The lady, who I took to be one of the owners said, "Oh yes, your the one that supposedly book another room, only there is no written documentation." Then she walked into her office and shouted back "You're all clear." Needless to say there was no discount for being booked in the wrong room or for being asked to do their housekeeping for them.
It was disappointing that Sitzmark felt they needed to burden their guests with their staffing issues, the rooms were not cleaned, bookings were not honored, and the rudeness of the owner was my last memory to a vacation I had worked very hard to be able to take. I love Red River, but am not a fan of the Sitzmark.
