Lodge America of Greensboro, Greensboro

I booked this room online for $44 and I definitely felt it was a good value compared to other hotels. The exterior is beautiful and it is very conveniently located right off the interstate near a Walmart, dozens of restaurants and other shops. The office staff is quite accommodating. However, the room itself is very spartan and unattractive. The lighting is dreadful - the only way one can have sufficient light is to turn on a glaring bulb overhead. I had towels, but no washcloths and there was no soap in the room or any other toiletries. (At $44, I didn't expect much in that way, but soap is a minimal expectation). There is a kitchenette with a stove and refrigerator which would be very helpful for longer stays but there are no pots or pans, which diminishes the value of the stovetop. The door opens to the outside and it was noisy from others coming in in the middle of the night. It was fine for the two nights I was there and I was definitely appreciative of the low cost, but I would not book it again because it was just too austere.
