Perfect preparation for interview at UCO
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/11
I was asked by UCO to stay at this B and B during my stay in Edmond because it is adjacent to the university. I balked at first by the price per night, but then after checking other hotels realized they offered so much more for nearly the same money. I stayed 2 nights in the Garden Room. After a 13 hour drive to get there, when I arrived I was a mess physically and emotionally. When I entered the room, soothing music was playing. The tub (not a jacuzzi - wish it had been) beckoned me. A variety of mineral salts and skin and hair products were right there. In the armoire were 2 fabulous robes (I must buy one) that are comparable to any 5 star hotel. I soaked away all my stress that first night. The bed was very comfortable and the room was just beautiful - a back to nature feel with a canopy of natural wooden twines. The service was wonderful. I was able to choose breakfast in my room or in the dining room. This is a family B & B and they made me feel at home. I was the only guest on morning 1 and ate breakfast with company of the owner - a delightful woman. Day 2, I asked for breakfast in the room and it was WONDERFUL, but this was after I went down to dining room and spent about 30 minutes with the cooks drinking coffee. (Early riser). The breakfast on day 2 - Waffles with cream cheese and strawberries and a vanilla sauce - - heavenly!!!!!! It also included an egg, sausage, cheese scramble that was wonderful. I didn't like the scrambled eggs on day one, but I enjoyed very much the attention the owner gave me as we sat together - strangers who were together and I didn't feel like an outsider. They drew me in for just a few days and cared for me. The staff was wonderful -- did everything but tuck me in. The music gadget was a bit difficult to figure out, but I loved choices. Perhaps staff should take a few minutes to explain how to operate it --- I played their regular CD and also found options for ocean sounds. By the time I left for first day of interview, I was prepared physically and emotionally. Anyone visiting UCO for a job interview should definitely stay here! Oh, and I intend to buy one of those robes!!!!
