Silver Surf Motel, San Simeon

There was nothing I disliked. Nice facility, clean rooms, well maintained grounds, great staff, I can't say enough. I shall return!

This hotel was very clean and quiet. The service was great they even gave us coupons for local places to eat. The price was an exceptionally good value. It was like 3 min. to Hearst Castle and they help us buty ticktets.

The office staff and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly, the room was very comfortable, the room and grounds were spacious and clean, the open tiled shower was very roomy and a real pleasure, I would not recommend the beds for more than five days unless you like a stiff mattress, the location was fantastic, with the beach several hundred yards away, you can hear the surf, I would recommend an upstairs room to reduce noise in the room, and one in front of the hotel for best views and ocean sounds, we stopped there with our fingers crossed on a very busy weekend, and the next time we are in the area, we will be staying again, huge value for the price, and there are several very good restaurants within a block, and groceries / liquor were well stocked at the stores in the block. Very, very relaxing and highly recommended ! Thanks :-)

Hey families on a budget. Clean, FRIENDLY. Under $40 for 2/one bed. Adjust accordingly for additional but still great place. Has pool, WiFi, No AC but didn"t need it. # miles too Hearst if that rings your bell. Sea elephants just down the road. Other motels up and down the road same area range from $60 to $250..

we have stayed here 3 time and it was great everytime. a big + that they allow pets. we love it.

Peaceful, Easy Feeling...That's not just the lyrics to The Eagles' classic but in explaining this 'Oasis' on the Central Coast of California. I love coming here in the winter (like last week, almost empty) so quiet and so nice. Beth (The evening Mgr) upgraded me and as a frequent guest even gave me a small bottle of wine to enjoy. I've been coming here during 'Hibernation' season for 10 years and I will continue to enjoy this property. You can go to a five star elsewhere in town, I'll take this place over those ANYTIME!! This is a great basic hotel for a family stay. The beds could have been more comfortable, but it was fine for a few days. The room was nice and big. We stayed for nearly a week, had excellent service from the front desk to housekeeping. We only wish that the indoor pool would have been a bit warmer.

We were pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness of this hotel. It was the one 'wildcard' on our drive up the coast, but very convenient to Hearst Castle. It is older and looks a little rickety on the outside but everything worked, the reservation was just as we expected, and eventually I gave it my "two socks off" rating. We even had a microwave and refrig in the room, which was a bonus. The walls are thin, but we only stayed one night so it was not an issue. The service was great - desk was very pleasant and even offered recommendations for dinner plus coupons! This is a decent, simple hotel.

One thing missing from the advertising is that weekend guests must bring their own ear plugs. If the car stereo punks don't get you, the "live entertainment" across the highway will. Paper thin walls are just no match, and noisy guests didn't help. The motel was clean and comfortable (until the noise began), the staff were very friendly and efficient. Otherwise, they need a big sign that reads, "Not for those seeking peace and quiet." Not on weekends, anyway.

We loved the pool and Spa. The Lawn area was very nice. The only bad thing to report was that you can hear the people upstairs walking around. Not very much installation in the walls. Other than that it was a great hotel. We would stay there again.
