Nice wooded seclusion
By Katie, 7/27/11
Our extended family of 16 spends a long weekend together every summer. We stayed in the lodge at Burton Woods for the second time this year. We have to be rather creative with sleeping arrangements for grandma, 4 couples and 7 grandsons between 19 and 30. The lodge has a nice big kitchen and additional fridge and microwave on the lower level. There are plenty of dishes and cookware. We all enjoy eating on the large, shady deck. The three TVs in the lodge are pretty old and there isn't much to do for older young people. Wish there was a pool table, and the ping pong table in the carport needs repair. The decor is a little tired and the living areas are rather dark, but it has plenty of space. Lake Burton is close by as are many opportunities for hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

Highly recommended!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/09
We have stayed at 2 separate cabins on many occasions at Burton Woods in Clarkesville, and every time we stayed there, the cabin was exceptionally clean, furnishings were very comfortable and firewood was provided. We always receive a telephone call or note welcoming us! If you are looking for seclusion and comfort at a great price, this is a great cabin choice! Be sure to go to the Batesville Junction Restaurant nearby, too! Helen is 10 miles away. Wonderful retreat!

So perfect
By Tamara Miles Gantt, 12/9/08
In 2003, I was having a very hard time in my life --- depression, etc., and I found this place to be the most remarkable solace for me. I stayed for three days alone, and I did nothing much but read and sleep by the fireplace. It was incredibly beautiful and quiet and restorative.

Hidden Treasure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/08
These cabins are nestled in the Appalachian foothills, yet accessible to major sites and recreation. Our cabins were new, immaculate and well-furnished, and the beautiful wooded surroundings were enhanced by the sounds of the bubbling brook, beautiful stars, and songbirds. If you are looking to escape to nature wihout any hassle (everything is supplied) and very reasonable cost, these cabins are truly hidden treasures!

Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/07
Our family spent a few days at a cabin in Burton Woods. It was a great place and great value. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating. Everything was provided, we just had to take our food. We liked being out of town but close to Helen, Clarksville and Lake Burton. We look forward to going back when the weather warms up and doing some horseback riding and maybe some rafting. Thanks for a great stay!!!
