Heartbreaking Management Response
By Linda, 11/06/08
We are always concerned when a guest is not delighted with their stay, however the public needs to hear the true story. We are located in the country on 73 private acres, and, of course, there are bugs. Since this was this couple's third visit, we assumed they knew that. We were not even aware that they had left until we found a note and their key on the reception desk--even though we were less than 15 feet away in the kitchen preparing dinner for guests. Here is what the note said: "You are wonderful people and you have been incredible to us. Unfortunately we can't stay in the Villa due to the wasps and I fear coming & going from the main house and sitting on the balcony cause a risk for me also. We have elected to cancel our reservation and forfeit the charge for our total reservation including dinners. We are sincerely sorry and promise not to cause you any further trouble." After reading this lovely note, we had no idea this couple was so unhappy until we read this review and are sincerely sorry they didn't tell us of their true feelings before they left. One additional note: we had eight other couples here that weekend and did not receive any complaints about bugs from any of them.

Heartbreaking
By AUDRA J, 11/02/08
"HEARTBREAKING" Let me start by saying that I am the one who wrote the previous review "Wish We Could Move In" from our visit back in May. In that review I made statements like "perfection" and "favorite place in the world". When I made the reservation for this weekend for our anniversary I was thrilled and dreaming of our last visit. This trip was anything but like the last experience. Let me start by saying again that Bob & Linda are wonderful people and so incredibly thoughtful. We booked our reservation and originally had to cancel because my husband found out that there is a chance he might not have a job next year. My parents found out we canceled our anniversary trip and offered to pay for our weekend along with dinner baskets. We were originally in the Hummingbird and Linda upgraded us to The Villa because I really wanted to stay there. When we arrived the porch that I talked about as being "heaven" in my last review was COVERED in ladybugs and wasps. There is no way you could sit on the rockers or even any of the balconies for that matter. We mentioned it to Bob & Linda and they said it was a problem this time of year. When we went down to The Villa it had tons of ladybugs and wasps swarming the front door. Upon entering we noticed several ladybugs flying around inside and thought it was no big deal. I went into the downstairs bathroom and found a brown recluse spider on the wall. Then as my husband was sitting on the love seat he watched a wasp come through the side of the door where there is a crack in the seal. I am highly allergic and I will end up in the hospital if I get stung. We went back up to the main house for wine & cheese time (by the way the dog threw up on my pants, my husband's leg, and the floor while we were trying to drink wine and eat cheese) and explained the situation to Bob & Linda and ask them what accommodations they had available in the main house. The room that was available had no shower and the hand held shower that is in the tub was broken. Also, we could not use the balcony because it had tons of wasps. We had ladybugs flying around this room also. My husband and I were so disappointed and knew the situation had ruined our stay for the weekend. There were three couples in the dinning area and since Bob & Linda had mentioned earlier that all but two couples this weekend were new guests we did not want to cause a scene and harm their business. We left Bob & Linda a note with the keys that we were returning home because I could not risk getting stung. I understand this is the country, but when you have that much of a problem going on and you will not spray, you should notify your potential guests and give them the option if they want to invest their time, money, and even health in being exposed. Bob & Linda know that our favorite place on property is the front porch with the rockers. We were heartbroken to have to turn around and drive home the same day (on our Anniversary) and explain to my parents who gave us the $500 for the weekend that we could not stay there because it endangered my health and that we had lost their $500 gift. UPDATE: They took our money and re-rented the room Saturday night.

WISH WE COULD MOVE IN
By AUDRA J, 05/25/08
I am afraid to write this review, because if everyone knows how absolutely fabulous Shiloh Morning is than I might not be able to reserve future dates for the two of us. There is not a thing I can complain about, it was total perfection. We stayed in the Hummingbird Suite and the bathroom is almost bigger than my kitchen and it has a HUGE two person soaking tub and a rainforest shower. There are lots of places to sit in the room, including two really comfy green chairs in front of the T.V. You just can't beat watching deer, bunnies , and hummingbirds go by as you soak in your own "private" hot tub. The rockers on the front porch of Shiloh Morning have to be my favorite place in the whole world now. We met some of the nicest people while staying in the house (they also have private cottages) and most of the time you feel like you have the main house all to yourself. EXCEPT during breakfast and wine & cheese time that's when all the entertaining conversations happen. We can't forget the breakfasts, how about Chicken Ala King Crepes and homemade bear claws or Tropical Fruit Belgium waffles with fresh strawberries and bananas and ham & swiss mini tarts. Trust me the food doesn't get any better than this. The dinner baskets that are available on weekends are just as fabulous. TRUST ME...just make a reservation and let Bob & Linda take wonderful care of you.

Already planning next getaway...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
The Shiloh Morning Inn is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I planned a small romantic getaway and it exceeded even our loftiest expectations. The owners, Bob and Linda, have crafted one of the most inherently relaxing locales anywhere. Whether it's kicking back in your personal jacuzzi or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the area, the Shiloh must be experienced as any attempt at describing its perfection invariably falls short. We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful B & B
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/05
Whoever wrote the last review listed must be crazy. We have stayed in this B & B several times and it is the very best we've ever visited and we have visited many. The hosts are pleasant, congenial and always helpful. The food and decor are outstanding. Could the problem be that the person said they sent a family? This B & B is limited to adults only and that is why we go there. We want peace and quiet and no children. You can rest assured that a stay in this B & B will make you want to return to it many times for the wonderful peaceful, restful atmosphere.
