Awful, smells...stay somewhere else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/08
This hotel is honestly the worst place I've ever stayed before. The rooms smell terrible, the bedspreads are all dirty and stained, the toilets are dirty, and the elevator may or may not work. The front lobby has bullet proof glass and a little slide tray to check in...this is because of all of the shady people hanging around outside and at the "ballroom". Don't be mislead...the ballroom is actually an outdoor night club that cranks up the music at 12am everynight. I was honestly concerned leaving my car unattended in the parking lot. The door to the room I stayed in looked like it had been kicked in and repaired more than once. There are many better places to stay than this one. Trust me...keep looking

OMG!!!! Stay somewhere else!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/1/08
Me, my boyfriend and some friends of ours went to Macon to see some friends of ours in a band play at Power Station and this was a great location, so we thought. As soon as we pulled up into the area we knew we did not want to stay there. It was not in the best part of the neighborhood at all. The pictures of the hotel are very misleading. This is an extended stay hotel/rent room by the hour type. There were people hanging around outside that just looked like they were up to no good. The night club they have is outside of the hotel on the corner and something you would picture seeing on a street corner with hookers standing outside and someone selling crack. We did not even get out of the car!! I called and canceled my reservations and the lady who answered did not even have a reservation for us. We went to another motel and paid less and felt safe even though it was just a little further. Pay the extra money and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

not too clean!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/27/08
in need of renovation, badly. the only good thing, is the location to downtown historic events. our bedspread (no blanket on bed) had dark stains on the underside (we saw when we pulled it down). after taking shoes off, and walking on carpet in our (white) socks, they were no longer white. the temp outside was in the 30's and our door had a big gap at the bottom, so the heater ran continuously. no table or chairs in room. no microwave as advertised. we thought there was no hot water, but it took a good 20 min to heat up. there are other hotels in macon with comparable prices, we would stay at a different hotel next time. it couldn't be worse. OH, and the 'nightclub' right next door starts to really get loud at about 3AM...which is OK if that's what you're looking for!

Better Deals Elsewhere!!
By TriciaT, 9/11/07
WEll, I was afraid what I might get when I opted for a cheaper hotel for my one night stay in Macon. I had 2 other women with me and when we drove up I thought I had messed up, then I saw some other women from our conference there so I figured it would be ok for one night. We were talking and come to find out they were trying to get a refund and they said, they had arrived at 9:30 the night before and if I had seen what they did, I would not be staying here. The lobby had an awful smell and the receptionist was behind bullet proof glass. Oh, boy. Needless to say, I left. My husband would not have wanted me to stay there. We stayed at the Baymont Inn and Suites for less than we were paying to stay here. The other ladies informed me the following day that there were women coming in this place that looked like they may have been looking for money, if you know what I mean, and men hanging over the balcony yelling all kinds of stuff at them. It just didn't feel safe. One of the ladies with me called a friend who lives in Macon for directions and he told her anything that says River View and is located in that part of town (near the Coluseium) is not a good place to be. Get on hwy 16, go toward Atlanta and get off on the riverside drive exit, the baymont inn even has continental breakfast and we only paid $67 for two full beds. I gave it two stars because I never saw the room~ men might be ok with it, I don't know.

The Riverview provide great service. A wonderful place to hold events and visit Historic Downtown Macon! The location was great I just wish I was aware of the additional garage parking!
