Beaulieu House Bed and Breakfast
This bed and breakfast is one of a kind! A unique experience that outlines anyone's idea of a pleasurable experience including a quiet waterfront, multi-million dollar gorgeous house with creative design and expert decor. This place is a piece of heaven on Earth and run by very friendly, accommodating staff. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and well taken care of, and the food is great! You'll enjoy every minute of your stay and it's worth the few extra dollars that you'd pay than for a lousy hotel experience. There's so much more to see in SC than just downtown, and it's here and personalized at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast.
This place put a bad taste in our mouths as far as B&B's go,which is a real shame since my wife and I have enjoyed our previous stays at B&B's in North and South Carolina.Smelly dog and cat around your feet and on chairs as you try to eat a sub par breakfast.( We own a dog by the way.So it's not and animal haters thing.)A self indulgent hostess,A true lack of Southern charm here.A shame since the local is nice even though it's pretty out of the way.
As an experience traveler, I must say that this B&B is BY FAR THE BEST I've ever been to. From the friendly greeting from the hostess, the homey feeling and impressive architecture and decor, to the ocean view full of wildlife and relaxing, quiet atmosphere, I felt as if I was on another planet and yet also close to home. I was impressed by the quality of the food, the hospitality, and not to mention the location. It is completely worth the price (only a couple more bucks than a hotel in the area), is pet friendly, and extremely accommodating. Across from tennis courts, 18-hole golf, swimming, and a quiet island neighborhood, this tropical getaway is one of a kind and a must-see!!!
A replica of an old house that has all modern conveniences, Beaulieu House is a charming get-a-way for a weekend or a week. We stayed in a room overlooking the water with a hammock on an outside balconey. The bed was large and comfortable and a flat-screened TV allowed us to watch the programs of our choice. The house has heart pine floors and is filled with antiques. Downstairs there is a common sitting and dining room, where guests can gather to talk and eat. The owner was away but we had a charming host and hostess who prepared delicious breakfasts of fruit and a main course which varied from day to day. We enjoyed visiting with the other guests and hearing about their explorations. In the late afternoon, wine was available for guests. Beaufort has wonderful art galleries, some shopping, and great restaurants. We stayed a full week (we were allowed to bring our cat for a small surcharge) and our only disappointment was when other guests we had met and liked had to leave. I plan to return in the fall and highly recommend a stay at the Beaulieu House.
