Worst vacation I have ever had
By stephen, 02/01/10
Way overpriced and the website is the only good thing about it. We had to wait over 4 hours to check in--because they were understaffed. Nothing really to do, rooms don't have tv's and they only have window unit AC's with no carpet on the floors---concrete floor. Rooms are very dim, the resort is not well kept, and the food was overpriced as well with not much to choose from. The main lady there (Manager or owner) has an attitude that she is better than you, and the rest of the staff are kids who have no manners or profesionalism for a resort type atmoshphere. Please don't waist your time or money.....

By jay, 01/31/10
very dirty, niot taken care of. it use to be an awesome place!! then it was taken over by some big corp. thats when it ended. word to anyone, dont waiste your time or money until its back in a single owners hand! i found that those are the only p[laces they respect you and enjoy your company. you are making them a living when its personal owners, not the big rich people that want you in and out so they can take the next persons money!!

Will only go back to the Rv Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/10
The Canyon of the Eagles used to be one of the best kept secrets of the Texas Hill Country. Beautiful cabins...beautiful pool.....beautiful clubhouse...excellent restaurant....free breakfast...We went to the RV portion of the park a couple of months ago. It was overgrown and a big disappointment. It has been sold off to a large chain. The Lodge has also been sold off and no longer offers the ammenities to the cabin and RV patrons. This once beautiful LCRA park has turned into a corporate meeting resort. The family atmosphere is gone. Sad but true :( Central Texas has lost a jewel.

Spring Break 2007
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/07
WE stayed at Canyon and a few helpful hints, The vanishing river cruise was not worth your time. It has been abbreviated due to low water and does not go out as far or does not take you to the falls due to low water. The Canyon of the Eagles is also about 20 miles from any real places to eat so if you don't want to pay 10.00 for a hamburger we suggest you bring your own food. Or eat lunch or dinner out before you come. We arrived at 6:30 and dinner reservations were not available until 9:00 that night so we ordered to go. The rooms are nice. We suggest the river view. And parking is not close to rooms so plan on carrying your things a long way. Maybe I was expecting a resort? It is more of a upscale retreat center. We probably will not be returning only because there are no televisions in rooms and I know people say they want to get away but at least offer options in rooms if they want it. Also cell phones are hard to get out of area calls. The room also only had a one cup coffe maker which is way too small for anyone like me who needs more than one cup to wake up.

Fun and adventurous
By Tam, 05/23/06
Beautiful views on Lake Buchanan! Swim, take a cruise on the Vanishing Texas River Cruise, hike, fish, boat, canoe, see beautiful wildflowers in the Spring. It's really a relaxing place to go, especially if you like the outdoors and water. The rooms are clean and have all a hotel would have, plus they are very relaxing. The cabins are small but have all the amentities and have a beautiful scenery. I wished the swimming pool had been a little bigger, but still lots of fun!
