Beautiful location, beautiful facilities, horrible staff. The gate guard wasn't at his post but the sign said he was "making his rounds" so we continued through since we knew where to go (the Magnolia House). As we are slowly driving through, he comes after us on his golf cart. He immediately said rudely "Can I help you? and where are you going?". No smile on his face and certainly no politeness. I immediately felt uncomfortable and unwelcome and even after answering him, he showed no warmth and was in no way accommodating. If he was here to make us feel safe, I felt completely to opposite. I can appreciate having a gate guard but if you are not going to be at your post, calm yourself down and remember I'm part of why you get a paycheck. Perhaps Destin Pointe should consider a lesson in manners and customer service. Another staff person at the beach, when asked if the power was back on, said harshly: "I don't know, why would I know?" Nice. A word of advice to Destin Pointe, if you can't change your staff...change your staff. Unless you don't care. A word of advice to others, Destin Pointe is definitely not the friendliest place and doesn't show off any southern hospitality. Bless their heart. Plenty of friendlier places that we will choose next time instead with the same beautiful beaches.

Had a few issues with reservations and staff was initially helpful in correcting these, however, somwhere in those changes our dates were changed and i lost a day of my reservation, the last one, neither myself nor the agent assisting me from destin pointe noticed this - we were traveling with another family and thier dates were fine. The day before our departure, we get a call from their office telling us we had to vacate, Housekeeping was at our door - i explained that we were scheduled to leave the next day - we had traveled together with another family - but even though they apologized, they said there was nothing they could do- each unit is owned individually and in order to move us to another unit we would have to pay cleaning fees, reservation fees, about 384. for 12 hours! We lost our Jet Ski reservation that morning, scrambled to throw all our food away, threw our stuff together and vacated - our whole week went down the drain in a matter of hours. they went on to tell me that the guest checking in that day was an "owner Guest" so their hands were absolutely tied - we were disgusted! i even sent a follow up email to the representative but she never answered me, i guess she figured she was sone with us once we vacated. Not impressed by the customer service and most of the young kids around the pool area were smoking and drinking, wasn't great for my 17 month old!

I have been visiting Destin since 1988 and Destin Pointe since the first year it opened in 1992. It has something that none of the other resorts have, a sense of seclusion. It has the best views in the panhandle, the gulf and the East Pass and it's own beach. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for that special place.

Our family discovered Destin back in 1998 when we explored the Alabama Gulf shores to the Florida panhandle. Why anyone would spend money going to the islands when you have the same at Destin Pointe and more is beyond me. The staff is helpful and friendly, the grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is that of family. Whether you are a honey moon couple or a family you couldn't possibly want more than what is at Destin Pointe. The beaches are superb and the sunsets are magnificent! A wonderful place to for families and young married couples to visit and relax from the everyday stress. Our only dream my wife and I have is to one day own a condo at Destin Pointe. It’s a place we would like to leave as an inheritance to our children so one day they can share this beautiful paradise with their families as well.

Destin Pointe is a very special spot in the Destin area. I've visted Destin for years starting in the 80's, but stopped going there when it became so crowded. I came across Destin Pointe by accident about 10 years ago. The location is great because the beach area is huge relative to the amount of houses/condos in the development. Even at peak times, you are only looking at one row of beach chairs...much better than many other areas of Destin. Another unique thing about the development is the location relative to the Pass. No development closer to the pass. Great views of the boats heading through the Pass and great sunsets. I highly recommend this to any families looking for a quiet beach neighborhood. Finally...I've found that Destin Pointe a good value relative to what you might pay for a comparable beach home in another Destin neighborhood. Even better when you compare to Hwy 30a rental rates.

I've visited Destin Pointe 13 years running and i couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when i come to destin. The houses are incredible (definitely worth the little extra), and the beach is amazing.
