Pleasant weekend

A very relaxing environment on the ranch. Easy to find and convenient. Very picturesque. It is comprised of several sized buildings, both old and newer. We stayed at the Oak Fern cottage. Very private and cozy. Reading general reviews online, I think we expected a little more than we experienced foodwise. Breakfast was good, but not gourmet. Good variety wonderful space and quick service though. The actual room was cozy and romantic. The tub is a jacuzzi with a hand held sprayer-no shower which can be inconvenient if in a hurry. Also very hard to get into if you have impaired mobility, but accomodations were nice. It got cold overnight and we enjoyed the gas heater and fireplace! It also had a fridge and microwave in room-perfect for our long weekend.
Anything to improve? 2 things-the porch was really dirty, it's perfect for sittting and reading, but was really dusty and furniture was heavily covered in dog hair, a quick hose down would have been nice. Also, the natural trees that surround the cottage need to be trimmed. We had brisk winds last night and this morning and the branches scraping the roof woke us up several times. We will probably return in the future, but will probably stay in the big house for a little more comfort. I would recommend this b and b.
