20 reviews for The Beach Club, Gulf Shores
Nice, calm & relaxing atmosphere.
By BrianR, 04/03/09
Away from hustle and bustle we associate with other Gulf Beach Condo areas we've visited. Nice facilities and casual atmosphere. Very nice layout for building, parking, and close to beach with very fast and ample elevators. There were many luggage carts located near the front area as well as grocery carts for common use. Clean, well maintained condo unit with nice kitchen, laundry, in room jacuzzi tub, washer/dryer - like home atmosphere. Exterior is well landscaped and maintained with nice touches; manicured lawn/sidewalk areas; well placed exterior lighting and comfortable outdoor swings facing the beach to watch the beach, sunrise, people, etc. We encountered quite a number of friendly and outgoing people who seemed to have that pleasant "on vacation" attitude. Very nice gulf view from living room as well as bedroom areas (Two twin beds; master - king size). All rooms were tastefully decorated with new and nice furnishings. Listening to the waves coming in is a very nice way to fall asleep at night. If you are looking for a nice but somewhat remote beach condominium you would likely be hard pressed to find anything better in this area. We prefer this to Destin but realize that is a matter of taste. We enjoyed the lack of chain stores and restaurants in the immediate area. Our younger teenage girls (13-14) enjoyed the Beach Club just as much, but one rainy morning we did have to break it up with shopping at the very nice outlet style mall located about 25 minutes away. There are limited supplies in the immediate area so we visited the grocery store on the way in which saved a bit of driving time. We received one night free due to a special offer simply by calling and asking for it. This reduced the price a couple of hundred dollars; making it about $250/night, which I found to be more than reasonable. I know there was a cleaning fee and it did seem like this might add up over a few days, but did not remember it being significant.

Best place I ever been to!
By WilliamM, 06/16/08
I am gettin to go next month and I can't wait! I have been going there the past few years and I love it! The first year we went there we lost our card and we were all worried about it but the staff told us not to worry because they would give us another room key for free! The second time we went there we got there a day early and we didn't know so we called them and said " We are on our way" and then the operator said "but you are a day early" So we got all worried about it but then the operator said" Well you are already staying 6 nights here and the policy says your 7th night is free" So Remember that YOUR SEVENTH NIGHT IS FREE!!!

Great Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/08
My family met at The Beach Club for a reunion of sorts and we had an absolutely wonderful time. There was a wedding one night and we opened up the doors to the balcony and listened to the music while we ate dinner (Be sure to shop before you go!)and then dance on the balcony. We ate dinner a couple of times at the Restaurant it's definitely a relaxed atmosphere. We ate breakfast at the market on days we wanted to hit the beach early, the food was good. On your way down to the beach on the boardwalk there are swings and they are so much just to sit in and watch the water and to people watch. There is also a great path to walk by their cottages that gets breazey in the evenings. I would definitely recommend this place for a family retreat or a place for a family to reconnect.

Loved It!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/08
We stayed at The Beach Club in the Catalina tower. We were impressed by the property and the food served at the Restaurant. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place to get away from it all. The room was pretty, kind of a retro theme and the view of the gulf was amazing. We slept with our door open to hear the water. I would definitely advise people to bring groceries if they don't want to drive into town everyday, but that is the price of seclusion.

The Best!!!!!
By Stephanie, 04/19/08
Private, very clean, family friendly, and great food and entertainment! We have been there several years in a row and can't wait to go back! The only drawback with kids is you are away from town. We liked the peace and quiet!

Never going back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/08
We were stunned to see a $79 cleaning fee for a two night stay especially with the outrageous rates of $239for off season. There were only two of us for a one bedroom. We also, as I stated on my card, had to fight off a rat to get into the elevator. Our niece and her children also encountered the rat as they were walking to the elevator. I am also planning to write a review on the Yahoo website. I would not recommend the Beach Club. Friends who stayed in one of the hotels on Gulf Shores had a much better experience and a more plush accommodations for less money. The food court did not open until 8 am so it was impossible to find coffee after we drank the two cups allowed in our room. We drove into Gulf Shores for breakfast (24 miles round trip). The paint was peeling off the cabinets in our unit and the door would not close properly and even blew open while we were gone one evening. Luckily no one entered and took anything. Five pools outside but only one heated. We made reservations for one of the rooms blocked out for a wedding and assumed we would all be together. However, the wedding guest were spread out over 4 high rises. I would be surprised if as it stands now this resort makes it!! We are use to better outside Charleston.

I thought this place was amazing and i think that the people who discourage anyone from going here are fake . The staff was the most friendliest people i have ever met and the food was great. The view from our condo was gorgeous

Stay Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/08
The Beach Club's outdoor pools were not heated, so were not usable in November. They advertised a game room, but it was under construction, and also not usable. Restaurant food was overpriced and NOT good. Staff was rude. and - BEWARE - after leaving the unit our card was charged 600 dollars in cleaning fees - including a replacement of sleeper sofa mattress, which we did not use at all during our stay. Our unit was left in very good condition, the 96 cleaning fee should have more than sufficed - we feel that this was fraud - an attempt to extract more money from guests. Stay away from this place!!
