My husband and I took advantage of the 50% off per night sale and booked 3 nights. As we drove into the property we were a bit taken aback by how rustic everything was. Our not-so-clean bare bones room was also a surprise, given the normal rate. We loved the beautiful scenery, the wildlife, and the relaxing atmosphere: swimming, sitting by the campfire or in the hammock, etc. However, the service was for the most part terrible, and the only decent meal we ate there was at breakfast, which we ate twice at the restaurant. Our final morning we were sent off with the waitress getting my husband's order wrong, he had anticipated eatting their blueberry pancakes with real blueberries in the batter and on top with a side of sausage, but the waitress brought him plain pancakes with bacon. After we sent them back, she returned with the same pancakes with some blueberries sprinkled on top. We were so frustrated by our overall experience at that point we didn't pursue it any further. A note about the spa: I booked a package before we arrived. The day of my appointment, I discovered the receptionist had booked me with the wrong package and the staff that was working that day wasn't trained in the treatments I had ordered. I ended up with treatments I could have easily had back at home. To say the least it was very disappointing. The manager was there, but did not apologize for the mistake. I was given a free salt scrub, but otherwise I was expected to pay full price for the treatments they were able to offer. As we spoke with other guests at the ranch the sentiment seemed to be the same: the place is worn down with a worn-out staff. If we had paid full price for our stay, we would have been furious.
