4 reviews for Dellanera RV Park, Galveston
Thought the park was fine!
By Sam C, 02/19/09
My wife and I have been going to Galveston every summer for 55 years.Have seen Galveston beaches "polished up" since we started. Used to stay in the hotels/motels until their prices got so high. Started staying at the Dellanera about 9/10 years ago and find it quite adequate. Granted the spaces are close together but we are only at the trailer at nightime as we are "out and around" during the day. The beach at the campground has been being maintained quite well with chairs and umbrellas to boot! Don't know if they are in operation after Ike but will be calling to find out. By the way, they have premium spots which are larger than the standard places for a slight additional fee.

Good location

My husband and I have stayed at Dellanera a couple of times and for the most part we thought it was ok. The fact that the beach is near by and the sea wall is in walking distance makes it perfect. However, I do not like the fact that the sites are so close together. Also, the parking is so tight at times that trying to get your vehicle through there can be a challenge. cg

We'll never go back!!
By Jette, 07/06/07
Don't let the pictures advertised for this park fool you. The only picture I saw of the beach did not show the sea weed you have to carefully walk through to get to water that is not very clean and of course full of sea weed. While I understand Dellanera has no control over the seaweed, they should at least be honest about the piles & piles of seaweed that is not showing anywheres on their picture. We had a problem with fire ants. We arrived with confirmed reservations and when we were assigned our site it was already being used. The playground has rusty broken equipment. Playground curfew is 9:00 pm; however way past 11:00 pm there were young teens screaming and yelling. Our campsite was directly near the playground. Our brand new RV was vandelized: Soap on the stairs, shrimp in the fresh water tank!! When we complained to the management;they said "Oh well, sorry about that. Guess we need to beef up security". We were there five days and on the day we were leaving, we finally saw a cruiser in the park. Never saw one before that and definitely never saw one in the evenings when we were congregated at our campsite. NEVER!! NEVER again will we go to Dellanera RV Park...

If possible stay at the State Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/07
We are "happy campers" and go to Galveston almost every weekend all summer in our rv and only stay here when there is no space at the State Park. It's clean and has a nice little store and laundry mat but it feels like you are staying in a parking lot. The spaces are tiny - you have approximately 5 - 10 feet between each rv. There is just no room to spread out and relax. If you go, DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THE PLAYGROUND! It is rusted and falling apart and it can CUT your children. It really needs to be either A. Removed or B. Fixed and Repainted! I'm not overly paranoid about my kids safety - this playground is a REAL piece of junk! This is our 2nd choice in Galveston!
