Doubletree Hotel Cocoa Beach-Oceanfront, Cocoa Beach

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the DoubleTree in Cocoa Beach. First off, the cookie they give you when you check in is absolutely delicious! (And the staff was also gracious enough to give us another one that night when we were looking for desert but the restaurant was closed.) The room was very spacious and clean, and the view from the balcony was great. We stayed in the partial ocean view room, once on the 2nd and once on the 5th floor. The view from the 5th floor was much better, I highly recommend requesting a room on the 5th or 6th floor if possible. I loved the rooms however the wireless internet they provide felt like dial up. The staff was the friendliest I've seen in a long while. They even let us check in 6 hours early after getting back from our cruise. They were very helpful and accommodated our every request. The ocean is just a few steps away, and they have a path leading right to it. If it is too cold to swim (which unfortunately it was for us) they have a heated outdoor pool which is very nice. Their restaurant was decent, although I recommend eating elsewhere if you can. The food was okay, and selection fairly limited. Also, the prices were higher than what I expected to pay. The only real problems we ran into was getting to and from the hotel. When we called to make reservations they told me there was a shuttle from the Orlando airport. What they didn't tell me was you have to book a reservation before hand so I ended up having to pay $125 for a cab (the shuttle is $24 per person from the airport so make sure you book this in advance!) They also have a shuttle to the cruise ports but nothing is free and if you want to go anywhere it's nearly the price of a cab. Overall I enjoyed my stay and hopefully will be back soon!
