Gulf Shores Resort Condominium, Port Aransas

I have stayed in these condos three times. The first two times were not so great since I was given a unit on the second/third floors near the swimming pool. One of the units had carpet which you do not want unless you want a beach inside the unit. Now, with online rentals available, you can choose the unit you want, and I chose an end unit, still on the 2nd floor-209. It lived up to my expectations and is totally different from the other units I had been assigned in the past. It is bright and cheerful with a lot of little extras, like a stereo system with AM/FM and DVD player, as well as a wet bar area with filtered water. I felt like I was at the beach, not in some condo in "Anywhere, USA." Gulf Shores itself seems better than it has been in the past as well. Perhaps this was always the case, but it seemed that the beach was cleaner than the beach just one complex away. Nice quiet area. I highly recommend it.

This is the third time we've rented at GS and the second time we have rented this unit. Since we were last here, there have been a lot of wonderful changes. The bathrooms have been tastefully remodeled, the patio furniture has been updated to provide an unobscured view of the beach, the kitchen has been remodeled and the patio doors (unlike those we had in a different unit) just slide right open. The decorations, which I thought were so cute last time we were here, are even cuter now. I especially like having a private back patio where we can sit and watch the sun set. With the Gulf side patio, we can also watch the sun rise!

This is the third time I have stayed in this unit and the last two times the owners have done something to make it better than it had been. Last year it was new blinds that replaced the "slat" blinds-blinds that can let you see out but no one can see in. Also they added HIGH furniture in the back so you can see over the railings. This year-OMG! They put in solid surface counters, remodeled the baths completely, added filtered water to the wet bar, added new cabinets and I'm sure I'm missing something, but it seemed like a totally new unit. PLUS they gave us a gift-an insulated tote with a first aid kit (something we always forget) and sun block. This is not a cheap gift, either! They printed their web site on the gift-do a search on "Gulf Shores 209" and you will find it. I actually went to it and it has great pictures and links to their Facebook page.

I have had the privilege of staying in Room 302 at Gulf Shores Condominiums 3 times so far. I guess when you find a good thing, why change it. The condo was nicely renovated to make you feel like you are staying luxury suite, while at the same time giving you the "beachy" atmosphere. The price is absolutely affordable. The view is my favorite part ... It is breathtaking! You are basically on top of the sand on the beach- that's how close you are. It's ideal for families, but a bunch of my friends always go out there and have the times of our lives. The beds are comfy, there is plenty of room to relax, super clean, and everything is up to date. If you are looking for a great and beautiful place to relax, look no further. I have referred all my friends and family to this room, and nobody has ever been disappointed. I promise you won't either! Have fun and sign the guest book for me. Carrie W.

We chose this unit specifically because of the reviews on Google and TripAdvisor. Here are the features in this condo that make it special-It has filtered water in the refrigerator AND in a wet bar area, which is great if you want to heat up water for tea or coffee in the microwave. The doors to the balcony slide open easily as compared to other Port A condos we have rented and the balcony furniture gives you a unblocked view of the beach and a place to put down your beer/wine. The beds are comfortable! The batrhrooms are nice and bright and seem to have been recently updated. The kitchen is totally open-no cabinets hanging from the ceilings. The cabinets have slide out drawers that my wife went crazy over. And the owners left us a gift-a tote bag of sorts with sunblock and a first aide kit. It is also close to the Newport Beach Golf Club. So, if you are going to Port A, I suggest this unit in Gulf Shores.

We had never heard of Gulf Shores condos in Port A, but when we did a search we found the cutest condo ever-unit 209! It has funky beach decor that just makes you feel happy! And the owners provided child-friendly DVDs that helped us entertain our kids. We highly recommend it.

The rooms were great. We had 3 condos. All had ocean or partial-ocean views. We were not there for the pool, although it was fun too. The beach is just a few yards from the front of the condos. What else could you possibly ask for at this price? We will go back, without a doubt.

Gulf shores was a great experience for my family and I. The room was great (we stayed in 302) and it had been fully renovated. The beach is visible from the entire living and kitchen area and the balcony is fantastic! We will be back again soon. Have not stayed in a nicer place on the beach. I would recomment Gulf Shores to anyone

While they do have a small pool, who would want to go there when the ocean is just steps away from your condo? All rooms have a fantastic view. We started coming there about 10 years ago and got spoiled by having such an awesome oceanfront location and now we won't go anywhere else.

Still the best place to stay in Port A, it’s right on the beach, closer than any of the other places to stay. We always request Unit #501, an end unit with balconies in front and back, well appointed and comfortable. It’s usually the most requested unit so try to book early. Port A is a funky and fun beach town.
