Beautiful, but Unwelcoming to Families
By Devin H, 10/17/11
The place is extremely clean and beautiful. It was my wife and our three very well-behaved girls. During our stay we were quiet, clean and cognizant of our neighbors. We kept the television off, so as not to make noise, and we did not let our girls run around. However, despite these efforts, we were made to feel very unwelcome. We were explicitly told to keep the children out of the courtyard (a nice backyard to eat and enjoy the view) because it was an adult resort. We were told that if we were going to be outside, to go to the beach and not in the yard. So essentially, we paid the full price, and were only able to experience half the resort. Additionally, the owner was very sarcastic with my eight year old daughter as she swept the steps, not knowing I was around the corner and could hear every word. He also yelled at my five year old for catching a lizard. (which I made sure she did not hurt and put back in the bushes right away.) We're vegetarians for goodness sake. If you have children, avoid this resort. We informed them of our children prior to the visit, but upon arrival were told it was an adult resort and asked "how did you find us anyway?" Our children were well-behaved the entire time, and we left the room very clean. But despite these efforts, we were made to feel like second-class visitors.

WHAT A GEM!!!!
By PamellaV, 6/19/10
Upon arriving...seeing the obvious care taken to tend to the flowers and the yard (not to mention the cleanliness we later experienced in our unit), my husband and I just knew we had made a great choice. As we were admiring the foliage and yard, our host, Richard, was right there to greet us and welcome us to our "home" for the next 3 nights. We stayed in the Barbados suite...such a joy...the warmth of the old world feel (I love decor that is not flamboyant...the earthy Spanish tiled floor complemented by the dark jewel tones of the tiled counters and table...we still are not sure exactly the style...an eclectic old world, Spanish, beach feel)....it was very roomy (both the combined living room/kitchen; bedroom with king-size bed; and the the bathroom). Our view...easily seen from the comfy futon...looked out onto the yard with the beach beyond (just steps away). With each unit having their own patio table and chairs, we also had access to a number of comfortable lounge chairs placed in the most inviting places (and, yet, freely moved to any choice spot), tree swings (2) and a picnic table for evening picnics watching the sunset. I never knew the comfort of "real" shade on a beach...the shadows of a tree are so much more comfortable and pleasant than that which you get from an umbrella. A most pleasurable experience was meeting Ernie...the resident Egret...it became very apparent he welcomes everyone with hopeful eyes of a treat. Though we did not accommodate him he never failed to greet us each morning. During our stay, though we kept to ourselves, we exchanged pleasantries with a diverse crowd...yet, this is not to imply a large gathering....elders who enjoyed the shade while reading; a fishing couple who set out each morn to fish the surf and kept Ernie happy with bait shrimp; and a mother with small children and grandparents. With only 5 or 6 units, Angelinos is a small inn...inviting to all who can accommodate the intimacy of shared surroundings. Richard is a wonderful host...not obtrusive...reminding me of a very accomplished waiter...always in your peripheral vision...available to serve when need. I can go on and on...maybe another time...as said, we will be back!!

Gorgeous and relaxing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/10
We loved everything about it - it is steps away from the beach, clean as can be and very quiet. All four units were occupied but we hardly ever saw anyone, much less heard anyone. The units are small and it is definitely oriented towards adults and older children. (My husband and I visited with our 13-year-old daughter and she loved it. We were afraid she'd be bored, since there is no pool, but you're so close to the gulf that it didn't matter at all.) If you're looking for excitement and activity, you will NOT find it here, but if you're looking for privacy, quiet and relaxation you can't beat it. We leave tomorrow to go back for another week! (The rates are also extremely reasonable.)

Always a pleasant experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/12/08
It is a quaint place, where you receive individual attention to the room cleanliness. Any problem is addressed personally by the owners. The beach is nice and private and yet you are a trolly ride away from activities on the Island. There are many interesting things to do within a day's ride. Museums, mansions to tour, fun restaurants to eat at. And not all of them are expensive. All n all it has been a pleasant time for us each time we visit. We started with the smallest unit and moved on to the larger ones. It is usually quiet in the evenings. But it is a family resort for sure at the same time. Try it! Beats out the large resorts anytime.

Paradise on earth!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/06
Our family has visited Angelino's sea lodge five times and it has never disappointed us. The owners, Lynn and Richard, maintain the cottages in perfect condition. The location is wonderful right on the Gulf of Mexico and the beaches are never crowded,no matter what time of the year you visit.... can't miss this, it's tranquil and peaceful.
