Anna Maria Island Cedar Cove Resort Voted #1 Beach Resort 3YRS in A Row, Holmes Beach

You have to try this Resort its the greatest. Our room was spotless, the hosts and staff were the kindest and most helpfull that I have ever seen. Im a world traveler and this little slice of heaven right on the beach "With a Private Beach" might I ad. The rates are very fair, but the one thing I would advise fellow travelers about is this. The way this Island is laid out many places arent on the Beach BE CAREFULL. Our first night on the Island I stayed at a place and as they said it steps to the beach. Well when I got there and found out the owner walked 2 miles a day his perseption of distance was much different from mine. I left and found Cedar Cove Resort...you cant go wrong.

My daughter and I are Floridians just an hour or so away. We don't get to the beach often and are last minute planners when we do. A couple of years ago we stumbled across Cedar Cove Resort when we found our usual place had no vacancies so rode till we saw the vacancy sign at Cedar Cove. We couldn't believe we'd found such a delightful place and stayed in the Flamingo. This year the only vacancy they had was the Violet cottage across the way so we booked it. We'd hoped for the Flamingo so weren't exactly happy across the street but the cottages were adorable and very neat. We also met some wonderful people and enjoyed the hot tub as well. No complaint, we're still happy and will go back. We love the atmosphere, the tropical setting and both Jeff and Erik are swell guys that are very helpful. We've found our little Paradise there at Cedar Cove. Can hardly wait till we can take a couple of days again. Oh to be able to stay for a week would be a piece of Heaven!!!!

Photos on website were very deceptive. Not a true 2 bedroom apartment and incredibly small. Not close to the beach as we were told. As expensive as it was there was no washer and dryer in apartment and the one on the property required money and did not work!

The unit we rented was a few steps from the beach. After unloading the car, and putting everything away, including the groceries and loading the fridge, we notice there was no running water. We arrived late, so there was no one at the office, however, we did find a phone outside the office and were were able to talk to someone who came over within 20 minutes. The person that came did not have a clue of why the unit did not have running water. He was nice and offered another cottage which was a bit larger. The unit was nice and spacioius. It looked like the unit was not rented for quite sometime, as there was an odor that smelled like roach spray. We opened a few windows and were able to get rid of the odor. However, that night we killed 4 roaches. When we opened the dishwasher there was a very bad smell, loaded with dishes, and spoiled food. It took awhile for the smell to go away. The last day, in the morning, we noticed a dead roach on our bed!!! We told the management in the morning, and the only offer was an apology. It is a nice property if they could keep the units clean. We will not come back there. We usually go to Anna Maria Island about 4 or more times a year, and never had a unit that was not cleaned.

The hosts of the hotel make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. They really know hospitality. From the smallest detail like carrying your bags and refusing a tip to helping you find the perfect place to dine on the island. The views are spectacular and the atmosphere is totally relaxing. A few of my favorite activities include napping in a hammock, falling asleep to the ocean in a lounge chair, and getting a massage under the tiki hut--are you sensing a pattern here? Cedar Cove does beach casual right! This is my second visit and I plan to be a repeat customer for years to come. Kristine

I live in Key West and bounce around to different hotels. I like to go to small resorts that are right on the beach. The east coast is good but for me the west coast is the best. I have been between Sanibel and Anna maria a total of 17 times ( I am ready to start my own travel business at that rate) I have been to Anna maria 11 times and for my money this resort is the best. They are right on the beach and I have stayed in there rooms that usually have a gulf view. A few times I couldnt get the room I wanted and had to walk a few more feet to the beach, oh well. Of all the rooms I stayed in they were very clean and neat.

My family and I had planned this trip for what I thought was a very long time. A friend of mine lives in sarasota and I had him visit all of the hotels on anna maria island. He found us the perfect place. A great place for a family reunion. They even had beach toys for the kids. The family made me the life time travel agent since they felt I did a great job on the planning.

My fiance and I were one a very strict budget and could not afford a large wedding. We found this place on the web. I called and they handled everything. I never thought I would be able to get married on get married on a beautiful beach at sunset. They took care of every small detail. We even rented one of their Tiki huts for the evening, they were so kind that they even decorated for us. What a nice surprise. They are the greatest in my eyes.
