The Rainbow on the Ocean, Pompano Beach

Charming retro vacation property ... South Beach Deco! Well maintained grounds with direct access to the beach. Our room was clean and well appointed in a Florida Beach motif. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool as well as being able to play on the beach. Friendly, responsive staff ... truly a family destination.

I would not recommend this motel to anyone. The private beach is a concrete platform covered with sand. The beach is narrow not much to speak of. The pool was dirty and the unit we booked was not very clean, stains on the mattress, very tired decor, out dated kitchen, The "suite"with the efficiency kitchen consisted of a sleeping space with a small walk in closet that housed a bar fridge, microwave, toaster and a bottle of dish soap to wash dishes in bathroom sink eeesh! In our brief tour my husband and I ended up with flee bites on our lower legs. Needless to say we didn't stay and had to find alternate accomodations. Please be careful when you book something online as you never know what you may be getting in to.

Being a true Florida Native I love memories of "Old Florida" and the Rainbow On the Ocean was a pleasant surprise. One of the few gems left and saved from the High Rise jungle our beautiful Florida has become. Our snow ski club came with a large group and had a wonderful weekend. All of the rooms were clean, updated an tastefully decorated. You can't beat the location and setting with the tropical pool area right out your front door and the ocean just beyond. The staff was very friendly and beyond accomodating to our group. A great place for families, reunions, parties and groups. We will be coming back again this year for another weekend celebration and would definately recommend it to any Florida Lovin Folks!!!!

When we first came to The Rainbow On The Ocean, some years ago, we were struck by the fact that many of the guests were telling us that they return to The Rainbow On The Ocean every year after having come here as children with their parents and now often bring their own children to enjoy a wonderful vacation. It was not long for us to find numerous reasons that this hotel has earned the fidelity of the visitors. We joined this group of regular visitors who come back every year and look forward for a vacation in this wonderful environment. Before anything else, we should congratulate the office and maintenance staff - who are unfailingly attentive and cordial, welcoming their guests and treating us with utmost care, professionalism, respect and warmth. Without them our vacation would never be so great. It is an experience of being under the discreet and warm care of wonderful people and of being “home away from home” without the worries of everyday life. We can never thank them enough for everything they do for us. The hotel, while conveniently located right on the ocean, yet has its own elevated private beach plot with chairs and cabanas. We enjoy the heated swimming pool and the well kept spacious grounds with their flowers, bushes and palm trees; the tables, parasols and lawn chairs are ample. Everything remains clean, outside and inside the apartments which are also well-equipped and well-designed with comfortable furniture. Cleanliness, order, security and peaceful calmness rate among the priorities of The Rainbow On The Ocean. A sense of responsibility prevails among the new guests as well as among the many returning ones, all of whom attend to the grounds as their own home. In short, our favorite “hotel-home” lives up to its name: it is truly a Rainbow On The Ocean. Thank you again and ... until our next visit ... P.and P.

Loved the convenience of literally being right on the beach and near the pool.. Also, loved that the nightlife and great restaurants were in walking distances so if we needed it, we could walk home =) The Rainbow is quaint, nothing showy, but always a fun place to come back to. A few regulars here and there, but a blast all around. The management was great and very helpful. I definitely would come back. Love the retro look! For the location and experience.. it's a great value.

We have made The Rainbow a family reunion spot for the past ten years. Although it is not the most glamorous of places- it's family friendly feel has made it a special place to my family. The rooms are equipped with kitchens, making for an affordable vacation because you don't have to go out for every meal. It sits right on the beach and has a heated pool for the children to enjoy. It is incredibly comfortable and relaxing for a nice little get away!

We have stayed here every year for nearly 15 years. It is right on the beach, with a heated pool in the center of the courtyard. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the staff is very helpful, and we always feel safe.. This is an ideal place for a family vacation. If you want crowded glitz - stay somewhere else, but if you want relaxed, private and comfortable, this is the place. When we arrived this year, my 9 year old daughter told me it's her favorite place in the world.

It is a shabby old building from another time. The beach is dirty. The place was under renovation when we stayed there (I was told it is always under renovation) and on the one nice day some very unsavory people spent the entire day with a power washer making noise and smoking. Not a good place for decent people or families. We couldn't wait to leave.

If you want to relax, really relax, go in september. No one there. It is delightful!!!! been going to the Rainbow for 30+ years. A great summer place for families. In the fall, great for adults. Wonderful staff, rooms clean, maid service...whoopee!!! Just plain peace and quiet. If you want noisy parties, go to Miami.

It was beautiful, right on the beach, nice, big, clean rooms and the staff was wonderful. Our ski club (Gator Snow Ski Club of the Palm Beaches) spent a delightful weekend relaxing by the pool. We will make this an annual event!
