Sanford and Son RV Park
By ,
This place is a junkyard. Junk is piled up everywhere. The sewer backs up when any rv dumps. The guest house was complete filth and infested with rodents. The shower house requires quarters - prepare for at least $3 a shower. The park is the most expensive park I have stayed at @ $47 a night. The Hot Springs have an odor because of the minerals in the springs but the sewer system smell was overbearing. The spaces are cramped. If you have slide outs it will be a tight fit. The hot springs pool was ok but needs picked up and cleaned. Park sets next to train tracks but there is not a lot of train traffic. I will not stay here again. Avoid this place if you can. The spaces are semi level with concrete slab on door side and a picnic table on each space. My awning was about 2 feet away from the neighbors slide. The neighbors waste dump was right next to my slab and it overflowed at least three times during our three night stay. Of course the park manager blames the campers for the poor septic drainage. This place was a jewel with the original owners but now it is a dump.

Way past it's prime
By ,
In reading the reviews from 2008, this park seemed to be a really great place. That is no longer the case. The famous pool that this place boasts? It's a total wreck. The concrete is cracked, the railings are rusted out, the benches look like they could collapse over the weight of a fly, and the worst thing of all? The bottom of the pool is COVERED in a layer of algae so thick that you slide around like an ice rink! Not to mention the armada of dead bugs floating on the surface. The showers and bathrooms are another travesty. There was mold EVERYWHERE and to get to them, you had to walk through a jungle of weeds and bugs. This place may have been great in 2008, but it looks like they haven't done a lick of cleaning or maintenance since!

Newby RV Traveler's

DO NOT STAY HERE!! ALL the pics on the website are deceiving. This place is a dump. Very run down. A little upkeep wouldn't help for ALL areas of this park. We pulled in....weeds, broken down carts at the front door. Railroad tracks right next to sites and when asked I was told the train comes through twice a day! This was our first trip in our new RV and we were very excited about the the hot springs. NOT!!!!! We actually tried to pay for a site (My husband has a bad back and needed to rest) but their dial up was down and couldn't process our card....THANK the powers that be! We left and never looked back. We decided to travel south/west to Dubois KOA. Now that I can recommend with 5 STARS!!

Love the hot pool of thermal waters and the people
By ,
This is the place to chill out and relax. And the owner will entertain you in the evening with good singing and playing on his guitar. Sometimes other musicians will arrive and form an informal band. We always find very interesting people to talk to here as well. We've been coming here for 6 years now and no Western RV trip is complete without a stop here. That said... The bathroom is fine, but the showers leave a lot to be desired. They are operated via quarters (2.5 minutes for a single quarter) and I suspect it is more to prevent water waste than to make any money. A single quarter to take a shower is not exactly high priced. One of the showers was broken this time and I was buck naked about the time I decided to switch to another shower. I had lots of water and the 2.5 minutes worked perfectly for me. Noise... Well there is a highway running beside the campground and it is noisy and the train tracks run along the river next to the park as well. Its not the quietest place in the world. If noise is a major deal breaker for you, then maybe you should pass on this park. It would take a lot to trump the pool tho as well as the people we've met here. Its a unique place and you are unlikely to find anything like this anywhere else. If you stay here, kick back in the pool, relax, and meet the people. This is a good place to live in the moment. There is a lot of good human warmth here. Lee

The healing water of Sacajawea \"hot springs\"
By ,
My family has been coming to Thermopolis since 1935. This is one of the greatest campground I have been to and I have been to every state, and been in some great campground. Yes you will hear the trains, and smell the sulfur from the Sacajawea "hot springs" healing water. But the healing power of the water is what you go for. Just sit in the water and relax and let all you worries, cares and pains go away. In the evening enjoy the entertainment from you host and owner Ron Foote. Every year when I return I can''t wait to see what they have improved or added to the campground to make my stay enjoyable. So I will continue to spend time at the Fountain of Youth Campground, and enjoy the great company and friendship of Fountain of Youth Hosts Ron and Arvey Foote. May God Bless You. See you at the Pool.

Pool great, camp site bad.
By ,
First let me start by saying what fun we had in the warm waters of the large pool in the morning and evening hours. Second let me say the bathrooms are not so great. Dark, dingy, and run down. Showers are pay showers, and the so called marble that is supposed to be in them appears to be plastic. They too appear dirty. The campsite is located next to a sulphur spring which stinks to high heaven, and a train track is about 10 feet away. Trains run through at all hours of the night (5 went through the 1st night we camped) and honk their loud horn to wake everyone up. Would I camp here again? No way.

Total Relaxation
By ,
I have been to the Fountain of Youth many times in the past. In fact every summer for the past 10 years. This year it is under new ownership, and the folks really enjoy what they are doing. The pool now has a cooler water side, and still has the totally enjoyable hotter side. The nightly entertainment poolside is great. I will return again and again.

I'll always go back!
By ,
I liked everything about this RV Park. The people are so friendly and helpful. They have the third largest mineral pool in Thermopolis. You get use of it everyday that you are there. Even if you come from town they'll rent a day space just so you can swim. They have bathrooms and showers. Tenters and campers are welcome. There was nothing that I disliked about it. You need to go see! I've been going for years.
