Wedding Night Horror

I had booked 6 months in advance for dinner and room for my wedding night. When we arrived straight from the wedding, we were directed to the room which reeked of cigarette smoke, so bad the bell boy reeled back on entry. We then left them to sort it out as we went up for dinner, wife in wedding dress. They put us in the pokiest, coldest, darkest corner of the room (after booking 6 months in advance, advising it was our wedding night) - unbeknown to us the general manager was sitting up in one of the nice booths eating french fries. My wife was distraught, and we complained so they eventually moved us to a booth. Dinner was great - but when we returned to the room, it was still foul. I chatted to the manager on duty, who said there was nothing they could do, and that if we wanted to, they could book us into a B&B down the road - on my wedding night. When my wife approached the manager in tears, the manager was rude, and basically told my wife she 'could check out' if she wanted. They basically ruined our wedding night, showed little care, and only provided a voucher for another stay when I reminded them 3 weeks after the fact that they had promised it. When you pay premium rates, you expect a lot more than a slap in the face, especially on one of the happiest nights of your life. Disgraceful...
