We offer clean, comfortable dormitory accommodations for international students and interns in Washington DC. We are conveniently located next to the subway and have free wireless internet, free public computers, spacious lounges, and gourmet kitchens. Please note that in order to qualify for the student rate, you must present two items: * a university ID * a passportCOMMUNAL LIVING & LOTS OF INTERACTIONOur building is designed to encourage interaction among our guests as much as possible. Our rooms (separated by gender) are shared, as are the bathroom facilities, kitchens, and living rooms. Note that privacy is limited, so if you\'re relatively shy, you may want to consider other options.HASSLE-FREE RESERVATIONS & SUPPORTOur website allows you to make reservations in advance to arrange your booking over the internet. All you need is a credit card and a computer. In addition, we have 24-hour email and phone support, and our friendly staff is always available to answer your questions and to help get you settled into the big city. All of our students have access to shared kitchens and a full bathroom on every floor. The bunk beds are a twin-size bed. Each student receives a locker about the size of a large microwave for their personal belongings. The student will be able to lock their personal belongings but will be responsible for providing a lock.FREE AMENITIESAll of our room options include the following amenities: * Free wireless internet (if you have a laptop) * Free public computer to check your email * Free phone for guests * Laundry facilities * Free towels & linens are provided * Fully stocked gourmet kitchens * Free personal locker & closet storage (bring your own lock)There are rooms with 4 bunks, 6 bunks, and 8 bunks. There are female-only, male-only, and co-ed bunks. The bunks are assigned based on a first-come first-serve basis.Short-term reservations are subject to a sales tax of 14.50% in Washington DC for credit card and cash-in transactions. Deposits are excluded from the taxable total. Simply take the metro from the Georgia-Avenue Petworth station, and you can get to any of Washington DC\'s great sites (Capitol Hill, White House) within 10 minutes.Please note that guests should be at least 18 years old to stay at the hostel.
