Fantastic rides--Food just OK

We absolutely loved being able to ride on your own! We could go anywhere on the ranch. We could walk, trot, gallop--whatever we felt comfortable doing. The ranch is huge and has terrain that varies from open fields, to steep mountain trails & canyons. It beats the head-tail dust-eating rides hand down. What a liberating & exhilarating feeling! The well-trained horses are owned by the ranch and individually chosen according to your riding experience and ability. If you don't like your horse, they are happy to get a different one for you. No place is perfect, though. Our only complaint was the food. Breakfast was generally great. For lunch however, the servings were miniscule. My husband is a tall, athletic guy. After a vigorous ride, a tiny salad doesn't cut it. The servers rarely came back to the table to see if you needed anything else. There are refrigerators on the porch of all the cabins. My advice would be to stock up on snacks in Sheridan. Dinners were generally OK. The accommodations were rustic, but clean, roomy, quiet and comfortable. Depending on the location of your cabin, you'll be able to hear the gurgling stream that runs though the property. There is a swimming pool, hot tub, & laundry. I'd love to return.
