This is a cozy and inviting place located in the heart of Greenwich Village . There is nothing fancy here, but the atmosphere is comfortable and the prices are right for budget travelers. One possible inconvenience is the lack of private bathrooms - there are two bathrooms on each floor, as well as a small kitchen. The Village neighborhood, not far from Washington Square , adds to the charm of this inn.
Hotel Details: air conditioning, hairdresser, non-smoking_rooms, parking, safe deposit, television

4 reviews for Larchmont Hotel, New York City
it was very cozy.
By Heather, 01/01/09
When my family went there in March, the weather was snowy and frigid, that however was not the atmosphere of the hotel. They wer also very attentive when we would ask for something- from replacing a light to getting us an extra bed. They were quite friendly and made an effort to help us when at all possible. Another nice thing was that while they were helpful, they were not annoying. It was cool to have an actual key to our hallway and room instead of one of those funky card keys; the only downside is that you had to bring your key with you to get back into your room if you went downstairs or down the hall for anything. The only major complaint was the fact that there was construction on the road and across the way from the hotel that if you're a light sleeper would be bothersome. All in all the stay was wonderful; they carried our bags when we came and left and the location was perfect. Just a small walk to everywhere you want to go or to the subway.

No hot water
By Yorizz, 05/01/07
When we checked in into our small bedroom, we noticed that the guy who brought us up to our room hung a notice on the (shared) bathroom saying that there was no hot water and that they were working on it to get it fixed. In the five days that we stayed at the Larchmont, we had not had a single drop of hot water. Cold showers really wake you up and luckily the weather was fantastic, but had that happened in winter, I would not stay a single night. We had to hassle for a discount and no alternatives were offered. I would not recommend this hotel.

the owner is not at all polite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
I dislike the cleanliness, I found hair in my bed ; the room had a perfume of feet, i am sorry to say so. i disliked the room, very little for 99 dollars, as well as the shower. i liked the situation: it's near great places. I liked the people who works there except the boss who is just not nice. they say they have a wireless but it does not function ! I have been there twice and it was the same each time

Cheap hotel, great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/05
Let me put in a plug for the Larchmont Hotel, West 11th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, West Village. This place is a steal if you don't mind the "downside": - You'll have to share a bath - Your room will be small and spartan - No dining room, bar, or anything else, except coffee and pastries for breakfast - Not suitable for little kids Now, the upside: - Great location in the West Village - Clean, comfortable, well-maintained, safe (you need three keys to get from the street to your room) - CHEAP. On 7/30/05 our room was $110 Saturday night, $99 Sunday night (before taxes) My wife and I have stayed there half a dozen times since 2003. If all you want is a downtown place to sleep, this is it.
