Keep Looking...
By Donna, 09/14/08
This building is in need of a major overhaul. Rooms have minimal & drab furnishings and the kitchen area is sorely outdated. Old, old, old. The sofa beds are horrendous! You feel the iron bars and springs right through the so-called mattress. Enough about the rooms... I also heard horror stories (from the cleaning staff) about how the management makes customers move to other rooms, 2 or more times during their week-long stay. Apparently, this is not an unusual occurance. I say, I'm paying good money for this hotel and once I get in my room, don't even think about making me more to another one! A vacation should be relaxing and enjoyable. Location: Far, far, far from the boardwalk. Younger kids will struggle getting down there. Little kids will need the stroller. Is there a "thumbs up" for the Acropolis? The view of the beach. That's it. Sorry. I'll look elsewhere next year.

Went 2007 with friends, dirty stain sheets, looks like blood. When my friend asked them to change the sheet they used the same sheet and just turned it around, she was so mad. At the end of the trip she left a tip, but went back in the room an took it back. The rooms need to be upgraded. Our rooms were oceanfront, but we did not get the room we pay for could not see the ocean was placed on the ground level open to pool. Just a pool with a litte cafe in the back. Change their ad what they say and what you get is false.

I just came back from my vacations in this hotel and I could make a long list of what was missing in the hotel (well, we did one when we arrived, we were four and we had only 2 chairs, 2 forks, 2 spoon, and some dirty plates and glasses, the room was made for 3-4 people). Yes, we had a great view of the ocean, but it was the only good thing here. The maids were 90 years old, the boss too, so it was really dirty and we didn't have a great service. The elevator had problems and the boss didn't tell anyone about it. We were at the fifth floor and we needed to take the stairway with our supermarket stuff. The oceanview is only for the third floor and up, at the second one you can't really see anything, and at the first, you need to deal with the smell of the hot dogs steam. I could write for hours but I'll finally say what probably everyone said : It was the first and the last time here.

beachfront !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/07
The Acropolis is a delightful family run beachfront hotel. It is inexpensive and comfortable. The beach is right there. It has an enormous pool and a kiddie pool. The boardwalk with its entertainments is just a short walk, close enough to be convenient but far enough to be quiet at night. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises so there is no need to stand in line at the public restaurants in town. I recommend it.

OK
By julia, 08/14/06
The hotel was disapointing. I was told that we would get an ocean view room, however, we ended up on the bottom floor with noisy kids running around our "balcony" until 1 am. We couldnt see the ocean fro our ocean view room, our room was also not clean, nor did it have a working bathroom light the entire time I stayed there. The plus is that it is very close to the beach. but if you want to walk to the boardwalk, it is a farther walk than I thought.

The nice but old hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/06
I liked the ocean front view and the hotel in general because we've been going there since I was two and it has been a family vacation place for us. I liked how u could just walk right to the beach and don't have to drive. I also have to say that it is an old hotel because it is 45 years old and people have been saying in the reviews that it is the most horrible and descusting place. Well no one can change that because it is old. Well just to sum this up I have to say that this is a family vacation hotel and if you go there just remember that it is an old hotel but a nice one!

location makes it worth it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/06
We've stayed here twice. It's not fancy, but the rooms allow for large family groups and the views, the beach...it's not luxurious, but it's fine for families who want to be on the beach and enjoy time together.

It's fairly nice, not that bad for a little cheap hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/06
I like the view, how the hotel is right near the ocean, and when you go out onto the balcony, you can see the beach and the ocean. The hotel was cheap, so you can't expect it to be perfect. It was old, which isn't really a problem, it had a cabel TV and a microwave with refrigerator, but I will admit it wasn't the cleanest. The beds were clean, but the floors and curtains weren't the best, and the bathroom was clean because we kept it that way as best we could. One really postive thing about this hotel is, it is near the beach away from the boardwalk and away from all the loud partying and noise. It is very quiet at night, and you don't have to deal with noise or lights, it's good for if you have little kids and want a quiet place at night.
