Okay for the price...

This hotel was alright for the price... a few relatives and I were visiting San Francisco with my brother who lives in San Jose and we wanted to stay the night in San Fran while sight-seeing. We also wanted to save money, so through a hotel search engine, my aunt fount this hotel. It looks better in the pictures because (of course) they take pictures of the best parts of the hotel. The bird cage elevator may sound nice and vintage, but because of it's age, it may be a little dangerous. While my brother and I were trying to step out of the elevator, it began to move down WITH the door open. We had to jerk our arms back in before we lost them and we came to find out that someone had called the elevator from the first floor. There were some windows (on the inside) that were open to what looked like an old elevator shaft... since the windows were open, it would've been easy for a child to climb up on the window seal and fall down what appeared to be an elevator shaft. The hotel itself was extremely hard to find and calling the hotel staff didn't help any, it may have been harder for us to find it since we visited San Fran during the Chinese New Years and kept being diverted around the parade that was taking place on Market Street. The beds were uncomfortable and some applianced did not work well. There was a homeless person taking a nap across the street in an art gallery doorway, so if you have young children, please keep from going out too late. Besides all the negative aspects of this hotel, the price kinda makes up for them... I mean, you are in the middle of San Francisco within walking distance of many tourist attractions. So, if you are not looking for a luxourious hotel, then this hotel may be satisfy your needs.
