Best hotel in The CIty
By Antionette, 3/27/11
I loved everything about this hotel. Service was excellent, rooms were clean and beautiful and the price was not bad. Towncars were available to take us anywhere we desired for a reasonable price. They had a turndown service and nice bar with friendly bartenders. The outdoor terrace was wonderful and had a great view. I enjoyed the staff at the spa who gave a great massage. I will definetly be back again.

Nice Hotel but won't be back
By Chandra, 9/21/08
The hotel photos made the room look wonderful. I wanted to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday in a big way and chose this hotel based on the photos and the claim of a luxury hotel. When we drove up, I was disappointed by the outside appearance of the hotel. Very plain and small. The interior was just ok, noting special as I had hoped. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating though. The room itself was the most disappointing because at at total of $450+ dollars for a 1 night stay ($45.00 for valet parking and $40.00 for 6 birthday balloons included in the cost), I could have flown to Vegas. The room was small and nothing of the Wow I was hoping to give my husband for this special day. The upside was that large soaking tub (my husband is over 6 feet tall) and the fluffy bed and bedding. The view was nice at night time though. I guess you have to visit a place to see it for yourself. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/06
If you look for a quiet room, go elsewhere. This hotel is right next to the Embarcadero highway. They even put "white noise" machines in the room to block the din. The rooms are small with little room for storage. Room service is expensive ($19 for just a pot of coffee, including mandatory tip, service charge and tax). I was charged for an item I never purchased, and found the staff unhelpful. The neighborhood is pretty dull, and basically dead on the weekends. They're trying to be trendy with sometimes comical results. Even when the outdoor bar was empty (2 guys in chinos having a beer), there were 3 guys in dark suits wearing ear pieces standing around trying to look like "security" or something. SF has tons of great places, and you could do better, especially considering how expensive this place is.

girls weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/06
I was in San Francisco for a girls weekend for my 40th birthday. We spent several days in Napa, one at a very cheesy hotel. The next night was at the Vitale. We were both just giddy the whole time we were there. The hotel is fabulous. It is basically brand new. The staff was over the top helpful and the location is the best in the city. We were so close to everything. The farmers market on Saturday morning is a must. The beds were the most comfortable i have ever slept in. Rooms had everything you could dream of. Robes and slippers and the lemon soap and lotion, ahhhh. I still have the soap and use it every once in a while when i need a boost, it brings me back to the Vitale...

great place to stay for vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/05
We loved our stay at the vitale, service was great. Location was great bus and trolly stop behind hotel and cable car stop less than a block away. Easy to get everywhere. Clean, great view. Loved to set on roof at night and look over city. We were worried we should have stayed at fishermans warf to closer to the things to do. But, warf was less than 5 min away by trolly and so many other things to do were close. Conceire was very helpful. No time shares here just good service and helpful advise. Gave us many ideals for so many more interesting things to go and places to go. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in. everything was great. Highly recommend.

the best hotel in san francisco
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/7/05
I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Vitale. I have stayed at more than a dozen San Francisco hotels and the Vitale is hands down the best of the bunch because it is the only luxury waterfront hotel in the city yet the prices are very reasonable

An escape from the south bay
By Nu, 8/30/05
I needed an escape from the stress of work, and the sometimes suffocating feeling that descends in the south bay. The solution was a night at the Hotel Vitale. It was very luxurious and relaxing. I left feeling rejuvenated. I regret not having bought the bathrobe and slippers for myself.
