worst camping ever

the campground was having a very loud concert way into the late night hours that went on for four days and nights. the owner was not helpful in having quiet time afler 11pm. alot of drinking and other things were going on. I think it should be closed. thank goodness the police stopped some of it

Great camping/Great owners
By ,
The campground was very clean the owners were very helpful. We enjoyed our visit and will be camping there again this Memorial Day weekend. The bath house was clean and there was paper towels, Unlike some campers, I brought my own soap since I was camping, I also brought my own towel and toilette paper. There was an endless supply of toilette paper in the restrooms. Yes we did stay up late socializing. Sorry if we whispered to loud. We talked to numerous people the next day that were quite happy with the facilities. Hope you try them out.

This campground is great for amatuer prospecting and metal detecting there is gold in the river and there is no limit to what you could find on shore not to mention the fantastic setting. The sound of the river, fireflies at night and the available river rafting,Etowah River Campground is my definition of a great vacation ! Dshepp

WOW! What a retreat!
By ,
This campground is secluded in the valleys of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the banks of the Etowah River. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Tubes were available for rent to float the river and they shuttled us to the drop in point. Ice, firewood & other necessary supplies were also available at the office. There was a huge playground/play area for the kids. The bath house was clean and well maintained (considering the weather). An added bonus was the guy giving kids a ride on his motorized picnic table. Yes, I said a motorized picnic table -- the kids loved it. This campground has gone to the top of my list. I may never camp anywhere else again.

Awesome Experience
By ,
This is the 3rd time I've gone to the Etowah River Campground. My kids cannot get enough. We always tent next to the river where we have access to electric and water. The owners have Ice and firewood on the premises and if you ask they will rent you a tube for a lazy float down the river. They even supply the ride to the drop in point for free! Nice bathrooms with hot water and Clean. Trash cans are situated throughout which the owner picks up daily. Plenty to do and see in the Dahlonega area. For $20 a night, I will definitely be back this summer!!!!

Wonderful Campgrounds
By ,
...talk about a Wonderful Campgrounds sight!!!...we traveled from Minnesota to go camping with friends over Memorial Day weekend (2009) and the Etowah River Campgrounds are Excellent!!!...large camp sights with electricity and water, clean restroom and showering facilities, access to ice and campfire wood, friendly people, and owners, Darrell & Jaki, greeting you upon arrival, making you feel at home (away from home) while you camp...the sight is beautiful, next to the river, and we would recommend it to everyone... fergie

A lot to do - looking forward to going back!
Campground was nice and bath houses were very clean. Firewood, ice, other accessories are available if needed... Which was convenient. A lot to do there tubing, fishing or just relax.. A lot of other places to visit are close by. Campsites are nice size with FULL hookup!

Can not wait to go back!!!!
By ,
This was the best campground I have been to in years. Nice big camp sites and very big and clean bathrooms. You can rent tubs and ride the river or you can just sit back and relax. The owners were very nice and made sure that we had what we needed. I am looking forward to going back as soon as I can.

BEWARE!!!!!!
Upon arriving to this "campground" I was greeted by a security gate, not a "Welcome Campers" sign. This gate proceeded to close on our camper as we entered the entrance, doing $2,400 damage which the owners are refusing to pay!!?? When I inquired as to the reason for the faulty gate I was told it was to keep people from sneaking in and doing drugs in the middle ot the night by the river. This was not the family type retreat I was looking for. I was also told the gate normally only malfunctions when it's raining, are you kidding me??

Not for families-LOUD parties and dirty
By ,
Looking for a place to camp that is peaceful..BEWARE this isn't it. Large groups of college kids party into the A.M.-owners were aware but never said a word. I was very displeased with the bath house-mud everywhere-no soap or paper towels. Save your $20.
