Shack Up Inn At Hopson Plantation, Clarksdale

The two days spent at The Shack -Up - Inn at the end of a two week US Blues Odyssey was by far the best. I intend to return when time and finances allow and do a hell of a lot more than this first visit.I have not stopped telling friends and folks I meet about the holiday, gigs, people and places seen on this trip over "The Pond". I conclude by saying I'm going back but next time straight to Clarksdale, Hopson's Plantation and the S-U-I in particular! I intend wearing out the rubber on that Fleetwood Caddie I got to drive, see more of the Delta and go fishing too! Some of my Blues loving pals, musicians and Biker friends have asked if they could come too! Hell I may even start up an agency arranging tours over! We may start the 2nd British Blues Invasion as I know several bands who want to play there now I've told them about the place ,the people and the climate! Bill, Guy and Jimmie extended a warm Southern S-U-I welome to me and my travelling companions. Fellow residents and locals made it a relaxing and interesting experience. I am indebted to y'all! I'd never seen anything like it or since. This is a slice of americana that everyone should try once. I felt like the people were the best muddy salt of the earth I'd ever seen, and hope that this corner of America never fades. Take as many pictures as you can, as you'll never find a place that makes you feel so much like a peter pan. You control your level of fun and activity; the only thing stopping you from a good time is your bad judgement to judge. Enjoy!

One of the highlights of the trip! Probably not for everybody, but I loved it and plan on returning. It too over an hour just to check out the blues stuff hanging on the walls of our cabin. Only down side was we were there in July and it was very hot outside, but our air conditioner worked great! Khump
