Not worth the money spent.
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a weekend away before our baby arrives. We paid a total of $155 for the one night and do not think that our trip was worth that. The room was very nice, and the bed comfortable. But our room at home is also nice and our bed comfortable. We had absolutely no face-to-face interactions with the owners except for when we first got there and knocked on their front door. We were sent to the back of the house where the cottage is and told it was open for us. The rest of the time, any questions or comments were left on a notepad in the hallway between the cottage and the main house. It was awkward for us how separate they kept us. You get more interaction with the staff at a hotel if you call the desk with a problem or need. Our breakfast was also left in the hall for us. Our breakfast was actually the most disappointing of the weekend. On their website it says: "Breakfast is beautifully prepared and served by our own in-house chef, trained at Leith's School of Food & Wine in London." It was basically a nicely presented continental breakfast comprising of granola and fruit parfait, banana muffins, coffee and orange juice. My previous experiences with B&B's have always been a full breakfast (ie, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, etc.) And by the description, we expected much more. My husband and I just don't think that our night away was worth what we spent. Madison itself was a nice small town, but if we ever go back, we will definitely look into another one of the Bed and Breakfasts.
