Its like camping in the ghetto!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/23/11
I hated it. It's full of unsupervised teen agers. Hardly no young families. Not only do the underage campers run people down all day on golf carts, but the camp ground allows people to blast their music all hours of the night. We got NO sleep while we were there. I called the front office and nothing was done about it. I get more peace living in the city. Go figure. I am an avid camper, and this is by far the worst campground I've ever been to. It was so bad that we decided to cut our vacation one day short. It sux! Please don't ever go to this place!

The kids loved it!
By melissa, 2/19/11
My kids and I arrived at LOP on a whim and without reservations. Louisiana summers being what they are I was not thrilled about tent camping in the packed campground so I was ecstatic to find they just had a cancellation! I grabbed the keys and ran off to enjoy air condition bliss! We arrive at our cabin to find it i was an old, ugly remodeled bus. I think to myself , I don't know if the kids are going to dig this. Let me tell you they loved it! They still talk about sleeping on the bus! They even still tell friends about how they could sit on the throne and shower at the same time :) Personally I didn't find the bus all that appealing. The decor left much to desire but the A/C was cold so I can't really complain. The rest of the campground was less than fantastic. The bath houses are scary small and the campground has an overall unkept look. On the plus side there were plenty of family activities and in general very family oriented. There is a beautiful, cool, shallow stream in the back that is perfect for small children! In short ;this is not the Four Seasons but if you are camping with young children they will love it! That alone earns LOP top ranking from me! On a side note ...don't forget your bikes!

LOVE LABOR DAY WEEKEND BATTLE OF BANDS,GREAT!
By NADINE, 1/11/11
We all have a great time every year for Battle of the Bands. We rent a camper and sometimes bring one. Its a campgrounds and not a hotel so you camp. Its a blast and I am 53 years old and can't wait to go back every year. My grandchildren come up one day and the rest are adult days for me. The staff are all friendly and go out their way to help. Only problem I see is the young kids driving golf carts too fast and that could be a disaster if a small child gets hit but the parents should not let the kids drive if they don't follow the rules.

Love camping but not what expected
By Gwen, 7/18/10
The best thing about this park is the CREEK it has cold beautiful water and the Chase Tyler band was great, But way too many disadvantages Bath Houses neeed updating really bad no ac in there, lots of under age riding of golfcart all hours of the night , UNDER AGE drinking ,sewer backs up due to the small drums in ground, speed limit not followed, roads bumpy and the list can go on...First campground that has disappointed me and my family loves the outdoors and camping. Do Not reccomend!

Hey if you don't like Camping , Stay Home.!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/09
It's a Camp Ground and a clean safe place to go with friends and family! Yes it rains, you are in South La. and they do not have control of the weather. I had a blast when it rained, the mud kind of made it fun.but that's me! The people who run it are the sweetest people and they allow people to have fun and accomadate you. Just remember you are camping at a campground not the Ritz you want the Ritz go to the Ritz.

This isn't the nice clean park you'd think
By MaryS, 4/9/09
This campground has a lot to be desired. Mud, Mud, Mud. And it rains often here. Prices are way to high, rough streets, unpaved, shower houses need updating bad, to noisy when they have weekend events, and sewer smell.

They need to upgrade alot!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/07
This campground would be so nice if they would just up-grade it. We just got back and we had so much mud all over all of our stuff. They need to spend some of the money they are making (just paid $150.00 for labor day weekend)and fix the sites so they do not collect so much water. We and others got our vehicles and campers stuck. Also the staff at this campground (mostly family members of the owners) are so rude. Only the sewage guy waves and smiles at people. This campground is in a great location, but needs lots of work. There is a pool, a water slide and a nice cool creek like river running along side of it.

HIGH price for NOTHING!!!
By chad, 7/3/07
This place was very dirty long grass, A stream they says a Beach. 75% of the park is live in camper which are very unpleasent to see.I paid $48 for a two day pass to stay with friends camping there, that was only worth $20. At $38 a nite its just a RIP OFF!!!!!!! 6/30/07
